The Contents Page
What's in the library
Inspired by those who have gone before me (and helped a little, on the technical front!), I have created a contents page for my work on vocal, thus enabling the thousands who flock to my profile daily (or you six or seven, thank you so much for keeping my chin up!) to gain easy access to both the gems and the wormy potatoes. Some of these pieces look like somewhat peculiar choices without the context of the challenge they were written for (why the fuck has a box shown up on the doorstep? What's with the random chapter that goes nowhere? And where do these ideas for Haiku come from?) I have learnt a lesson there and more recently started using subtitles to remind me if I was writing the piece to a particular challenge.
I contemplated placing a little marker next to the pieces I felt good about, usually because I enjoyed writing them, and an alternative marker for the duds - avoid these, not good. But where's the threshold (about 16 minutes, much of the time)? So I left that be. Instead I have gone from chronological order, newest first, within each category. I also haven't put stories which placed in a community challenge under achievements, because I cant remember which ones did and which ones didn't! I may move them in time, if I can figure it out.

💯👌👌👌
I totally missed this, especially with the Barter Books Rail Feature. Excellent idea
Wow. Great idea this. Considering I have a mountain of stories (most of them sub-par, as Vocal terms it. (Some really are cringy) Maybe my good 100 ones could join your idea. Just for my peace of mind I have thought of finding a way to get the good ones together. Your idea is great. Maybe i will do something non-Vocal. This was great. Now to try to read them all.
Well, this is a very good idea! Love that you punctuated it with humour. Congrats on Top Story
Congrats on TS. I need Moore time so I can get thoroughly through your back catalogue, dammit!
Your clever use of subtitles not only guides readers through the rich tapestry of your creations but also reflects a thoughtful consideration of context, making the reading experience both enjoyable and accessible.
Lmaoooo at the ending🤣. Love this though 🥰🥰
At first I was like, ‘Why TF are they making a virtual table of contents page a Top Story… and why am I tempted to take a peek?’ Then I read the intro and saw you’re extremely witty. I shall be making my way through more of your work.
I love that more and more people are doing this! It's such a great way to keep some of your older pieces relevant and out of the forgotten abyss that Vocal can sometimes be! I am so excited to use this to sneak through your page and read work that I have either missed or that you would like more eyes to see!! Great work Hannah and congratulations on Top Story!! P.s. I laughed at the ending authors note, I think we have all been there at some point!! 💙
love your writing
Great idea. Congratulations on the top story!!
Lol...meant to read this when you first published it! Love how you injected your own brand of self-depracating humour into a dry contents page! Love love it haha! Also, it makes it much easier for me to bingeread your stuff! Well done on this getting Top Story - hope it gets you more than the 6 or 7 visitors!
That's a lot of achievements lady -Well done! Great idea and perfect way to meet the word count 🤍
So much that I've not read. Nicely done though. I made it to the end so chuckled heartily.
Yayyyy so glad you put this together! I'll have to circle back here when I'm free because I've not read so many of these! Also, the Writers community doesn't have a minimum word count but I loved what you added! 🥰
Excellent! A lot of hard work you put in to make it easier for us to explore. 💖
Yes. A few thousand views would be nice wouldn’t it Hannah! ;0) Hopefully this compilation might help. Good one! Have a nice day. 😊
Love this, Hannah! What a wonderful collection of work to be very proud of!!! I'm inspired to do this with my pieces.
I like how you broke this down :). I wish we had more control over how we display things on our profile page. I recognize a number of the titles it so many more I’ve yet to explore!
I love this Hannah. I made one for Medium ages ago but never got round to it on here when I joined. I just need some time now to curl up and enjoy 🤗
Lol that ending! So happy you got all the kinks worked out! This is so great. I have more reading to do. 😆👏💜
