How I Used Them Today Facing "More" Cheating In The Mr. Health And Fitness 2024 Competition

In my work, I talk a lot about Dis-Stress and Reducing it to Succeed as A Leader.

Now, even though I know much about how to do this work, it does not necessarily mean that I am not subject to feeling Dis-Stress from time to time.

Today was one of those days where I got a bit of Dis-Stress come over me.

I am in the midst of the Mr. Health and Fitness 2024 Competition.

Things are going extremely well, but I have already seen Cheating occur, and I'm NOT convinced that all of it has been caught.

Then, the icing on the cake this morning, I discover that a competitor has plagiarized my written work!

Now, I'm not going to link to their "work" nor mention their name as that could simply empower their plagiarizing efforts, and luckily they did it "very" poorly.

On top of this, I'm 100% certain they are Unable to match my Writing Consistency (Over 500 Days Straight), Knowledge of Psychophysiology, Experience, and of course, they cannot match YOU reading this now.

I know that Real People with Good Hearts and Morals read my work and Support my Efforts - "You" cannot be Stolen.

However, I'm also still Human, and seeing someone have the Audacity to try to (poorly) steal my work made me a "bit" Angry.

The timing of this discovery was also Not Ideal as I was about to go into a Coaching Session with a Client within 10 minutes.

The Great News is that "This" is what I Train for.

How do you get Out of Dis-Stress, and into Flow States, when the Emotions wash over you?

Even if those Emotions are Justified?

How do you go into Meetings and Interact with others so that You can Help "Their" Psychophysiology Improve?

How can You Be a Leader that Brings Calm into a Room, and Ignite Learning, Innovation, and Creative Problem-Solving in others?

Those are the things I train my Psychophysiology to Accomplish so I can help Clients become Better Leaders.

So, these are the things that I did before and during my Coaching Session to be the best Coach I could be in that Moment!

First, I did Diaphragmatic Breathing.

When you Breathe Properly, you have a lot of fascinating effects occur in the body that aid in Reducing Distress.

Diaphragmatic Breathing will improve your Posture, which reduces Stressors on the Nervous System (Improper Posture creates a Chain of Stressors in the Body).

With this, a Direct Path of Communication occurs between our Brains and Neurocardiology (Heart Brain) that you can Regulate with Breathing.

This becomes very important as a Leader for a few reasons.

When this Communication is Good, your HRV (a marker of Health) will Increase, your Nervous System will go out of Fight-or-Flight Mode, and you will Improve Coherence.

As a Leader, this can directly Improve your Thinking, Problem-Solving, and even Emotional Intelligence.

But more importantly, is that our HRV and Coherence directly interact with those we are close to.

If our HRV and Coherence are off, we will Negatively Impact those around us.

If our HRV and Coherence are Great, we can actually Positively Impact those around us and bring them into a Similar State of Mind to Ourselves.

If we can get ourselves into a Flow State, then this gives us the ability to pull others into Flow States as well, known as Group Flow.

All of this becomes attainable through simple Breathing if we understand how these complex mechanisms interact.

One device I use constantly to help with this is my Lief Device* which also tells me, in the moment, when my HRV is low and Actively guides my Breathing to Improve my HRV.

This however, is only a piece of what I did.

Another aspect of the Nervous System is when we work on areas with high volumes of Nerve Endings it can act as a Calming Mechanism to quickly Decrease Dis-Stress.

There are Three Regions where we have the Highest Density of Nerve Endings as Humans.

Our Mouth, our Hands, and our Feet.

So, there are some Vocal and Mouth Exercises that I did to work on the Mouth's Nerve Endings.

I Rubbed my Fingertips Together so I could Feel the Ridges of them, and then further Rubbed my Hands Together to get different textures.

The multitude of textures with the Hands also provides Novelty, which itself, is a Mechanism to Unlock Flow States.

Then, I also ignited the Nerve Endings on my Feet.

I wear Xero Shoes* which are "Barefoot" Shoes to aid in this.

The soles are thin enough to "feel" the ground, which allows me to tell the difference between textures like wood and carpet.

Plus the sole is extremely flexible, allowing me to move my toes and bend my feet in novel ways.

Again, that Novelty can help Trigger a Flow State.

There is also another cool function that our Bodies have, as well, to decrease Dis-Stress.

There are Movement Patterns that we Naturally have which, when we Engage in them, automatically reduce Dis-Stress.

One of those Patterns?

Proper Walking!

It's so simple, yet so few people do it well.

The technical term around what occurs is "Cross-Crawls" which when done well on two feet becomes Walking!

When opposite sides of our body move cohesively it becomes Calming.

So, when the Left Arm moves forward, the Right Leg Steps, and vice-versa.

It's a little more Technical than that, but that gives you the basics.

Now, when I combined these different things, I got the Results I was looking for.

Decreased Stress, to land in the Eu-Stress Zone.

Flow State Unlocked.

Increased HRV and Heart Coherence led my Client into Entrainment with Me (Matching Coherence).

That Unlocked "Their" Flow State, Creating Group Flow.

From there, things kept getting better!

Now, there is one other Key to making this all work properly.

Our Baseline Stress.

In our Lives, All Stress Adds.

However, most people have a High "Baseline" Level of Stressors in their Lives.

If your Baseline is Too High, some of these Techniques may not be enough in the Moment You Need it Most.

The Challenge in Today's World is that most people's "Baseline" is "Burnout".

Burnout is simply the word we use to mean that our Dis-Stress has been so high, for so long, that our bodies are "literally" tearing themselves apart.

That is where 80% of people are currently, with more close behind.

If you want to Win against Dis-Stress, we must Decrease our Baseline Stressors.

This can be done through either Elimination or Reduction.

In any case, it requires a Dedication to Proper Recovery.

So, "now" that I am done with my Coaching Session, I am "also" working on Properly Recovering to Lower my Stressors.

I discussed Recovery a few days ago after my 3 Spartan Events over the Weekend which consisted of 25 k. (15.5 mi.) of Running and 51 Obstacles over 2 Days.

My Dedication to Recovery allows me to be Prepared for the Inevitable and Ill-Timed Stressors that Life Presents, just like today.

"That" is how you Win.

Be Prepared "Before" The Challenges Arise.
