My most current projects

Hello my dear Vocal community, this is me, the author of this article and the author of other such stories such as … well, the stories that I will now share with you. I started on Vocal in 2021, making lots of friends (I wish I could add all my Vocal friends here, then it would be too full of my friends accounts lol), like the lovely dark queen Dharshee, writing companions like the gorgeous inspirational Queen Tiff & my Vocal brother Mike, and learning about my own style, author voice and my personal mistakes and errors I needed to overcome and correct. I learned through many Vocal prompts and challenges how to make my author voice more engaging, distinct and meaningful by writing in not only male perspectives but female, non binary and other gender identities.

I had struggled since middle school to write female perspectives (which was a mystery to me until I started understanding my gender dysphoria), as I wrote only in the male perspectives my whole life. Vocal’s writing challenges helped me to open my writing in an emotional way through searching for new stories and new experiences. I was able to get out of my comfort zone and write in other gender perspectives. I have since learned a lot about my personal weaknesses, learned from tons of mistakes, gotten hundreds of rejections and also gotten some amazing ideas, writing accolades, and published some of my books through some traditional indie publishers.

Here are some of my current and upcoming projects as well as some of my other published books you may be interested in.

I write a lot of fanfiction so I’ll be sharing that in here as well. My Fanfics are very personal to me as I usually write fanfics to process my grief, anger and depression. It’s also about my personal feelings for a show, book or movie that affected me deeply, and the characters and stories that helped me through tough situations and difficult emotions. A big shout out to Sasha Desideri, as she gave me the suggestion to make a chapter to chapter catalogue with links for my newer projects. She’s very talented check her out!

Here’s my current fanfic account on AO3. I used to have a fanfiction.net account but that has so much cringe content. If you like cringe stuff lol here is my very first fanfic account. It has a lot of purple prose and corny stuff. Just warning you right now!

Anyway, here’s some stories on Vocal you can read that I finished and currently working on:

Salubrious: from one of my favorite shows, Smiling Friends, this is a romance fanfiction pairing Charlie and Allan. Premise: Allan and Charlie accidentally fall in love after Allan asks Charlie to be his, “personal smiling friend,” causing havoc, chaos and destruction as they start growing a real bond.

I have Salubrious on my AO3 account which will be easier to read. There’s currently 49 chapters on my Vocal account for this story. Dude. I feel so lame for that lol. I honestly used this fanfic (and my other Smiling Friends fanfic like After-care) to process my seasonal depression this summer, and it’s been so hard but this helped a little.

Okay, so this is my zombie apocalypse series titled I am Bexley. This is the first one, where you can find it on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and JMS Books.

I am Bexley: Romance/fantasy/horror. Premise: In a world ravaged by a zombie apocalypse, humanity is under the tyrannical rule of the undead. In the year 2071, humans are forced to live in bunkers and caves while zombies, divided by class, reign supreme in human settlements. Elite "gems" dictate the rules everyone follows.

Amidst the chaos, hope emerges in the form of Bexley, a nineteen-year-old zombie girl with a heart of gold and a sharp katana. Can she bridge the gap between the two societies and protect her family and friends from the deadly Bloodletters? Though her heart may not be beating, she has plenty of love to share.

This is the start to the sequel entitled: I am Bexley: The Bloodletter’s Scourge. Premise: After a brutal war, Bexley and her friends set out to unite zombies, humans, and Bloodletters before fear and prejudice tear their fragile peace apart. But as old memories awaken and new dangers emerge, they discover that changing the world may be harder than surviving it.

This sequel has new characters, which happen to be my new favorite characters, Amory & Indigo. They’re feisty, nasty, angry and kinda creepy but they’re also very funny, sweet, empathetic and fun. The problem with my Vocal chapters is that I didn’t label them properly, and I also didn’t really put every single chapter on Vocal yet.

The reason is because I want there to be more mystery and intrigue to this sequel so I won’t be publishing every single chapter on Vocal. If you’re interested in beta reading however please let me know and I can email you the full story so far. I can also send you the first book, I am Bexley, so you can get the full story from the beginning!!! There’s also other chapters that I left out for spoiler purposes. There’s some holes in the chapters, so I apologize as I have what I call, “interludes” in between chapters that focus on certain plots, characters and motivations that are not on Vocal. I will be filling things in as I can, or if I decide to make the whole thing accessible on Vocal. If you see any inconsistency let me know! I’m A parent with little good amounts of sleep, a usual migraine, and too much coffee!

My other latest book: Silent Bites, a queer thriller.

Here’s a description of my book, Silent Bites:

Silent Bites is a queer psychological thriller set against the vibrant backdrop of New York City. When Arturo, a man longing to live authentically, crosses paths with Dan, a guarded police officer burdened by his past, an unexpected connection begins to grow from a simple chance encounter. As the plucky café owner Sera and the enigmatic Aki become entwined in their lives, each must confront buried trauma, hidden desires, and the identities they've spent years trying to protect.

And here’s one that’s very personal to me, Emotional Dirty Talk. I wrote this for a challenge for L.C. Schäfer, and it’s about grief, loss, body dysphoria and depression.

It’s yet another, you guessed it, a Smiling Friends fanfic. Premise: Set after Aftercare (on my fanfic account too). Pim and Charlie develop their own brand of intimacy while Pim discovers his identity through reassurance from Charlie. Allan gets kidnapped. Charlie and Pim investigate and process their grief.

It’s how to recognize your grief and your anger, your identity through processing these thoughts and emotions and trying to live authentically, brutally and spiritually through a positive and loving vision. There’s an underlying pulp fiction element of a kidnapped friend, an ongoing stalker and a forced marriage. Yeah as the author this is honestly my most personal piece I’ve written in a long while. I’ll let you, the reader, read this and let your opinion be shaped into whatever you want it to be. I usually dive into fanfiction when I feel at the zenith of my depression, the loneliest I ever felt, and the best way to process it with this honest, raw type of writing.

I have other side projects on the back burner, like a dragon series (currently in two pieces in a short story book I published), a romance drama about marriage, a sequel to Silent Bites about heroes and villains, and a book about AI. Those are way, way, way on the back burner.
