“Remember when you went batshit crazy and killed that sock-stealing goblin?” Charlie teased.
Allan grimaced. “I’m not usually prone to murder but my sixth sense was correct.”
“About what?” Charlie started coffee as they walked in the kitchen.
“That it was my evil landlord.”
Charlie gave him a quick peck on the cheek. “Yes but… You’re still insane.”
“I know but I saw you kept the socks I made you. They were next to your bed,” Allan said with a smile. “You must like insane things.”
Charlie blushed. “Oh, yeah. That. Haha. They’re just there so I don’t.. get cold feet.”
Allan laughed, helping him pour the coffee.
“I never thought getting close to you would make my apartment look like something out of a magazine. Like, seriously, me and you barely even talked or hung out for the longest time. If someone had told me that the office stickler with the blue tie would be in my place on the regular taking care of my vomit, I’d wanna slap their momma!” Charlie exclaimed.
Allan hugged Charlie from behind. “You know, funny story about those socks I made for you. I originally thought you were complaining because the socks didn’t have enough holes. Haha. Weird right?” Allan said in a sort of embarrassed tone.
Charlie leaned into the embrace. “No. It totally makes sense for you, dude.”
Allan started preparing breakfast, “I’m going to force you to eat some fruit today. And some oatmeal for your heart.”
“I’ll be honest, you actually have cared more about my health and my overall medical condition better than even my own parents did,” Charlie confessed.
“My father always cared if I ate new-trichh-eeeeuss foods,” Allan said with a serious look.
Charlie gave him an odd look. “Where is he now?”
Allan shrugged. “Probably working. He makes hard hats for people with oddly shaped heads.” Allan started chopping up vegetables quickly. He started dicing so fast Charlie was impressed.
“Whoa badass, Allan! Nice knife skills. It almost made me forget the weird family you grew up in.”
Allan laughed shortly, “I could teach you. Like how you taught me how to shotgun a blunt.”
Charlie blushed, remembering how that moment felt like an almost kiss, and how he tries so hard to deny that growing feeling.
“That was months ago. Before I was turned gay by you,” Charlie joked.
“You still like women, Charlie. You’re not that gay. Just… maybe, thirty-five percent gay,” Allan said seriously.
“That’s a weirdly precise calculation,” Charlie shook his head, drinking his coffee slowly. “So what’s up with Pim lately? I think he’s been a bit flakey.”
Allan started beating eggs in a bowl, looking concentrated on his task. “Um, that’s not good. Have you asked why?”
“No, dude, I can’t get much out of him on a good day. I think he’s planning something,” Charlie said, looking annoyed.
“Oh you mean he’s planning a surprise two month anniversary party for us?” Allan said blankly.
“Dude do you know something I don’t?”
“No. It’s a guess. My other guess is he’s dating that one lady he met the other day,” Allan started plating up some of the fruit, when he heard Charlie yell, making him almost drop a plate.
“Dude! I knew it! Pim is going to score with that pink haired chick!” Charlie yelled enthusiastically.
“Charlie I understand you’re excited but I almost got my favorite hoodie dirty. And I almost dropped a plate.”
Charlie laughed but then gave him a serious look, going over to Allan. “Sorry, honey,” Charlie said softly, kissing him on the forehead.
“I love that you still wear my old hoodie. The orange color is fading, though. You do wash it, right?” Charlie asked causally.
Allan seemed to snuggle in the faded orange hoodie. “You gave it to me smelling like you. So no.”
Charlie gave him a look that made Allan feel crazy. Well, crazier than normal.
“What?” Allan asked in a sarcastic way. “It’s time to eat.”
“You’re the clean freak, though. That’s insane to me that you don’t wash it.” Charlie shrugged. “But it’s kinda cool. Kinda sweet.”
“I like to smell it when you’re not around,” Allan said in a deadpan tone.
“You’re so fucking weird, man.”
“You already know that. It’s in our relationship contract that you’re aware of my ‘crazy’ situation. You better have something nice planned for our anniversary. Seriously,” Allan gave him a peck on the lips.
Charlie leaned into the kiss, deepening it. He suddenly had an armful of Allan, caressing his face, accidentally taking off Charlie’s hat.
“Oops. Sorry, Charlie,” Allan teased as he started kissing him on the neck, pulling him closer for a sultry kiss that had a ton of energy behind it.
“Fool around?” Charlie muttered in between the kisses, thinking about how much time has passed since all the craziness in the beginning of their relationship. Their slow start of physical intimacy was wavering between heavy makeouts, petting and some fooling around. But, no official sex as Allan had been involved in some traumatic incidents with his old landlord including a stabbing attack and other such stalking. So Charlie was happy and patient, wanting the moment to be protected by their trust.
Allan nodded. “Maybe after we eat. Naughty boy.”
Charlie’s eyes widened with a puppy dog look. “But I want more.”
Allan laughed, swatting his boyfriend’s traveling hands away like a fly. Allan realized there wasn’t ever really any pressure from Charlie for them to actually consummate things. It made him feel safe yet he knew that Charlie was someone who regularly needed some sort of intimacy, even if it was only a kiss, a hug, a long cuddle or just them watching a movie together under a blanket.
“I changed my mind. You’re thirty-eight percent gay,” Allan teased as they sat down to eat.
“What about you? I think you’re like.. sixty-nine percent gay,” Charlie laughed.
Allan frowned, but it twitched a bit, almost to a smile. “You got me there, I guess.”
“Get it? 69? Cause of the sex position?” Charlie immaturely laughed. Allan gave him an annoyed smile.
“Real mature.”
