Our ā€œRaise Your Voice Threadsā€ are hosted every other Thursday at 12PM ET to offer creators more avenues to uncover exceptional stories on Vocal. As we are continuously searching for fresh creators and inspiring stories, this thread provides an opportunity to exchange and discuss the stories that have moved and motivated us on Vocal.

How to join the šŸ“¢ Raise Your Voice Thread:

  • Introduce yourself in the comment section of this story and tell us what you create on Vocal.
  • Shoutout a Vocal creator you recommend reading. Include the URL of a writer or story that inspired you and why.
  • If you like a story another person has recommended, send that story's creator a like, leave a comment, and/or subscribe to them.

Please follow Vocalā€™s Community Guidelines and donā€™t spam your own profile or stories in the thread. We encourage the community to report users or comments that break these guidelines.

Also, make sure you join our Vocal Community Chat monthly on Tuesday at 12PM ET to discuss insights and platform updates.

We'll start the thread:

The simplicity in form of Linda by Rebecca Siemering is deceptive, because it really packs a punch. It's a gorgeous tribute to all the caregivers.

Now it's your turn. Share your favorite stories in the comments below.

Late to the party here! I loved Susanna's short piece - https://vocal.media/fiction/under-the-thumb-of-a-god by Susanna Kiernan This one is showing horrible practices in Ghana, please read it. https://vocal.media/pride/ghana-s-vp-pushes-anti-lgtbq-because-he-knows-ghanaians-love-hatred By IwriteMywrongs

Hey all, I dabble in different genres and am trying to journey out of my comfort zone to grow by sharing both past and present works of mine! Really I got on this thread to shoutout an amazing micro fiction by L.C. ā€œFor Crowsā€! This story had me tearing up and inspired me to enter my first unofficial challenge! https://vocal.media/fiction/for-crows

I get paid more than $140 to $170 per hour for working online. I heard about this job 3 months ago and after joining this I have earned easily $25k from this without having online working skills . Simply give it a shot on the accompanying siteā€¦ Here is I started. ...WĀwĀw.wĀeĀbĀiĀnĀcĀoĀmĀeĀ5Ā4Ā.ĀbĀlĀoĀgĀsĀpĀoĀt.CĀoĀm

Hello all, I am Brenda Marie. Spiritual Life Coach, dream interpreter, a past-life therapist, a freelance writer, blogger, poet, art lover, pet owner, and author. I am a Reiki Grand Master and energy healer. I have studied several Spiritual practices. I love to share her knowledge, wisdom, and life experiences through her writing. • Novel Allen22 days ago

Hi, scribbler Novel here. I just found, or rather I was just found by a new creator whose first story is fascinating. Someone to watch as she bursts upon the scene with a wonderful story. Meet Luksi Bayou https://vocal.media/chapters/that-time-when-papa-and-i-went-fishing-part-1-of-2

  • Hello, I am Greg and I am a photographer who is on a journey of recovery and I am finding new ways to reflect on my art and find ways to write encouragement to others as I work through my healing process. All images are my own and all poetry/haikus I write are my own. I am also a super tech nerd. I am hopeful my work find a place in the vocal community. and I would love to write and encourage others. Thanks! Today I discovered Angela Hepworth and her poem about apples. šŸŽ https://vocal.media/poets/apple-on-the-tree

  • Hi, this is Yasemin, i write dark stories and humourous poems. Nice piece of Art i read today is here : https://vocal.media/poets/reversed-en

  • L.C. SchƤfer23 days ago

I'm writing a microfic every day this year. Also writing the occasional slightly longer piece, or a wanky poem. Best thing I read today, a real nailbiter: https://vocal.media/fiction/over-the-hill-70k0ph4

  • ROCK 24 days ago

I am ROCK, a moody stoner. I like a whole lotta writers and suggest only that one deciphers their liked, loves and passions regarding the art of writing themselves. I do love Kelli Sheckler-Amsden in poetry and MikeyDred though. Oh, and Bella, Randy, Paul...this is impossible. Everyone keep writing! Everyone has a fan. XX šŸ’—

A year ago I published this article on the occasion of the celebration of writing in Bulgaria. Today, on the same day, I'd like to recall it: https://vocal.media/fyi/why-do-you-still-use-this-russian-alphabet

  • I completely missed this but here are my five Top Story nominations for this one, also shocked to have one of mine nominated, thank you Dana: 1: Observations on Vocal Interactions by Novell Allen : https://vocal.media/poets/what-is-it-with-people-suddenly-liking-stories-and-not-commenting 2:A beautiful remembrance by Paul Stewart: https://vocal.media/poets/just-like-that-x3p40ilw 3: Wonderful Love Poetry from C.B. • Andy Potts24 days ago

Couple of stand-outs for me just now. As usual, Rachel Deeming is producing great things, and her series involving Jason, the Girl and the Skewered Apple is engaging and disconcerting in equal measure. Start here, keep going: https://vocal.media/fiction/the-bag-8ubk000i And, since I love a bit of dystopia, I'll highlight this one from LC Shafer, while hypocritically crouching over my screen: https://vocal.media/fiction/forced-compliance-not-necessary

  • Bradley Ramsey24 days ago

Hello! I've been on Vocal for almost three years, but I publish fiction in various genres as I try to get my work out there and one day publish my first novel. For my shout out I want to share "The Little Coffee Shoppe at the End of the World" by Suze Kay. Her work is always filled with genuine emotion and superb atmosphere, but I think this piece really exemplifies her ability to pull you into a world. Enjoy! https://vocal.media/futurism/the-little-coffee-shoppe-at-the-end-of-the-world

  • Hannah Moore24 days ago

I've been trying to read on my laptop instead of my phone s f this got out of the habit of saving links for this purpose, which makes me feel a fool every time this swings around. BUT I just read this by Caroline craven which was NOT the steady ride I was hoping for with a migraine! Fantastically controlled writing as always, but my viscera has responded with disquiet. https://vocal.media/fiction/over-the-hill-70k0ph4

Had a little copy & paste error in my previous comment. Here is the correct link for Christy Munson's story: https://vocal.media/fiction/until-we-meet-again-1o6y0f6g

Okay, I liar-lied. Here are some recommendations - Hannah Moore - Down the Rabbit Hole - I went Down the Rabbit Hole to find this one - it's rather great - https://vocal.media/poets/down-the-rabbit-hole-sajk04kt L.C. SchƤfer - Write because it's true and impassioned even if it's what she calls a wanky poem. lol - https://vocal.media/poets/write-kl8m0uug Gerard DiLeo - Fit Enough? - https://vocal.media/poets/fit-enough Rowan Finley - What We Hide in Cracks of Couches - https://vocal.media/poets/what-we-hide-in-cracks-of-couches Oh, and when I start reading through all the wonderful stuff that has been sent my way because of that post I recently published...I am guessing for weeks there will be stuff added to future editions of Raise Your Voice!

  • Christy Munson24 days ago

The following pieces have stuck with me most recently: Joe O'Connor's Heaven on Earth https://vocal.media/wander/heaven-on-earth-obfe0mdg Randy Baker's Welcome to Cartagena https://vocal.media/wander/welcome-to-cartagena John Cox's A Serious Writer https://vocal.media/writers/a-serious-writer L.C. Shafer's A Real, Honest to Goodness, Tree https://vocal.media/fiction/a-real-honest-to-goodness-tree There are several pieces I'd love to recommend but they're for my microfiction challenge, and it'd be biased of me to hint at any favorites. But I do strongly encourage everyone to read ALL the entries! https://vocal.media/fiction/munson-s-microfiction-my-tears-need-a-minute

Hi VocalBucket - Though I'm just an old fashion storyteller/sketch artist. I know most stick to their splinter groups and 'Gens.' I don't even know how to link this, but please jump the pond, and see Brenda Fluharty's work; she's a magnificent writer. j.k.in.l.a.

  • Lamar Wiggins24 days ago

Hello, Lamar here. I've read so many worthy pieces lately. Keep up the great work everyone. This one, by Heather Zieffle struck a chord with me. https://vocal.media/fiction/where-the-sidewalk-ends-the-story

  • Meagan Dion24 days ago

Whatā€™s up! Iā€™m Meagan. I write a little of this and a little of that. I really enjoyed this poem by Kelli! https://vocal.media/poets/the-all-powerful-imagination Check it out!

  • Carol Townend24 days ago

Hi, I'm Carol, and I write a little bit of everything. My favorite poem is https://vocal.media/poets/memory-lane-wg1kmk0odh This is a poem that takes you on a journey through a past in which the writer reflects on the good and the bad. She sees the scars from the past that are left behind and reflects on her feelings.
