Write

My second entry to the Tattoo That Line Challenge. I think there are a couple of lines that compete for Tattoohood, here, but IMO the best one for inkage is the last. It's brief, and it's true, and for people like *us* we can feel this in our bones. It's been a while since I've done a Wanky Poem. Here you go!

Write Write when the words are heavy Write for yourself Write with a sharp pen; lance the mind-boil Write boldly, with glorious abandon Write with a cheeky grin, a wink, a twinkle Write because you must Write when it's exciting; and also when it's boring Write to get paid Write because you love it and especially when you don't

Write when the muse sings, and the words are like candy floss, spinning light and easy and sweet

Write when the words ooze slow like sludge Write to escape Write when it's uncomfortable or dull Write to learn about the world and also about yourself Write because it's fun, because it's funny

Write because it makes you cry, makes you think, makes you laugh

Write to get better at writing

Write to be alive and human and know it Write the pain from the bones of your soul Write absolute shit

Write to fill the empty page

Write to silence the voice that says you can't

Write when it hurts

Write to take up space Write because someone told you you're good at it Write because someone told you you're bad at it

Write because it's Wednesday

Write when the inkwell is brimming and bubbling, but especially when it's dry

Write at your desk, on the bus, in the bath

Write to create, to express, to play

Write on a napkin, on your break, on the back of a receipt

Write because you can

Write to show the world who you are; your little I WOZ ERE on the wall of the universe

Write to tell, to yell, to scream

Write to soothe

Write for the joy and agony of it

Write a whisper into the void for the twin soul that might not be out there Darling, just write. +
