Linda
For all of the caregivers.
My mother has moved into dementia. I enjoy my updates with her nurse Linda the best. I can hear 35 years of cigarettes in her voice. She is the most honest with me about my mother's care. I don't hear the company lawyers over her shoulder. She gets things done.
I prefer
the nurse
with a rasp
for a voice.
She knows
it all-
has seen
your bottom,
and
does
not
care.
She has
seen you
at the
bottom,
and
does
not
care.
She will
rub down
(with every breath and beat of her heart)
your worries
and then goes home
to her own.
Good morning.
I’m here for you.

Congrats on your Top Story!🥳🥳🥳
Love the short lines, done well!
Beautiful work.
congratulations on TS and yes, more of the older nurses have empathy for the patient. More of the younger ones just think nursing as a job.
Love this. And congrats on TS!!
