Selena
I locked the front door of the office building and stepped out into the hardening mud of what looked like a street. Between the new constructions and the already densely-built, half-empty blocks, the yards of the last few remaining houses in the neighborhood were huddled like islands. Dogs could be heard barking in the distance. I looked at my phone - 20:22.. Damn! I'm probably the last one closing up again. By the time I get home it will be dawn, and naturally there will be no parking spaces left.

Vocal - some observations and suggestions
I've been a member of Vocal for a short period of time, yet it has been three months since I published my inaugural article. In that piece, I shared memories that shed light on the perspective of someone who lived behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, offering a unique viewpoint compared to most Vocal users:

Bitter reflections after the NATO summit 2023
The NATO meeting in Vilnius on July 11th and 12th, 2023, triggered some unsettling thoughts within me. However, let's first delve into some older events. Since the early days of his career, Vladimir Putin has exhibited a behavior reminiscent of someone from a not-so-distant past. In fact, he has followed in the footsteps of Adolf Hitler, emulating the path that led Hitler to become the historical figure we know today.

Titan and Challenger - two tragedies, the same root
During those days, while the war in Ukraine raged on, another tragedy captivated the collective consciousness, with hopes of a positive outcome. Unfortunately, those hopes were in vain. It was later revealed that in the days following the loss of communication with Titan, our hopes of rescuing the distressed submersible and its passengers alive were shattered. From the moment the signal was lost, everyone on board had already perished.

The Bill Gates Greatest Mistake
"People from United States, why do you support Bill Gates?" This stanza is part of a verse written by an unknown Linux-fan at the beginning of the New Millennium. At that time, of course, we hated Windows and Bill Gates. By “we”, I mean a small society of fans of this odd Operating System. A society which had included most of the individuals who were connected, in one way or another, with the then nascent Internet in Bulgaria.

Why do you still use this "Russian alphabet"?
In Bulgaria, on the 24th of May, we celebrate the Day of Writing, the Cyrillic Alphabet, and Literacy. However, there is often confusion surrounding the origins of the Cyrillic alphabet, with some questioning its connection to Cyril and Methodius. I often hear:

Is Putin an agent of the West?
Among Western politicians, there has been no singular figure who can be universally recognized as the greatest pro-Western politician or the most ardent supporter of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). However, recent events have prompted European countries to set aside their differences and unite against shared threats.

A little bit of Peace during the Cold war
There was a big war that ended, but another one followed - a new type of war called the "Cold War." This war was fought with a new type of weaponry, one of the most dangerous of which was propaganda. Propaganda made people hate others they had never met and prepared them for a new war.
