Joey Gallo Is Killing the Importance of Batting Average
We’ve talked a lot about the “fly-ball revolution” lately — the idea of elevating and making hard contact to increase production. Yonder Alonso has used it to his benefit, as have players like Mike Moustakas and Brett Gardner.

NBA All Go-To-War Team
If you’re like me, you enjoy when fights break out in the middle of NBA games. If you were an NBA general manager, and you had to put together a team of NBA players that you would want on your side during a fight, these would be the guys. Ones that can throw haymakers, choke someone out, or if need be, punch a fan. These players would be the All-Stars for a go-to-war team.

The Aaron Judge Cinderella Story Continues
It’s the type of start that every big league rookie dreams of. Your first full season in the Majors, leading the league in homers, and becoming the talk of the city. New York City, to boot. Well Aaron Judge has done just that. They even created a specific section for Judge in right field at Yankee Stadium called the “Judge’s Chambers”. Your own section in honor of how great you are at baseball? Must be nice. But the former first round pick deserves it. He’s taken the baseball world by storm, hitting mammoth home runs and making diving catches in the alleys of Yankee stadium. When Judge began the season on this kind of tear, a lot of people thought it would slow down. But it hasn’t. Judge is hitting .335 with 24 bombs, and was just asked to participate in the Home run derby at the 2017 All-Star game. For good reason, too. He currently holds the longest hit home run of the 2017 season at an astounding 495 feet.

How To: Level Up Your PC Without Breaking the Bank!
One thing is for certain; gaming isn't a cheap hobby. Especially PC gaming. Technology is expanding at an extremely rapid pace and one day your computer may be able to handle all the new next generation games, while a couple days later something even greater is released and its time to upgrade that old graphics card again. Or if you're a student like me, you may not have 1000 dollars just burning a hole in your pocket to spend on a good enough computer that can handle Destiny 2 or COD:WW2 (Totally a Battlefield 1 copy by the way).

What Happens When the Opioid Epidemic Hits Home... Literally
He was only 32 years old. It was a Sunday morning. I was working my second job, bartending at a local spot. If I hadn’t been working I’d have probably been there drinking regardless, enjoying a casual Sunday brunch with my friends. It was a slow day, most of the regulars probably out in the Hamptons or taking advantage of the perfect beach weather. I felt the buzz of my phone in my pocket, the all too familiar sensation. Just a couple short bursts, only a text message. I saw one of my roommate’s names pop up, Annie. A short, but athletic dancer in her late twenties. We had spent the last several days trying to solve a peculiar case of an odor that had infiltrated our cozy four-bedroom apartment. Our third roommate was in Spain with his boyfriend, and our fourth in Long Island with his family for the holiday weekend. Therefore it was up to us to discover the source of the invasive smell.

In the Future Will We All Use Mind Control?
In the future will we all exercise “mind control” over others? I do not mean the emotional manipulation consciously used to get our own way. I mean the ability to get others to think the way we do and agree with us, just by sheer strength of mind.

Starbucks Cold Brew
Starbucks is bringing out so many visually pleasing drinks lately. It makes me want to go out and try them all. The pecan latte sounds really cool. And I've heard about the US bringing out the Unicorn Frappuccino and it looks so gorgeous. I just wish the UK would bring it over here, to see if really lives up to the hype.

Best Drones for Beginners
Learning how to fly a drone isn't easy. There are a lot of knobs, twists, and turns, and if you have delicate equipment in your drone, a single crash can mean that you lose hundreds of dollars in an instant. Many drones are just not meant for beginner flyers — especially beginners on a budget.

Mindfulness and Meditation
Interest in mindfulness meditation, yoga, and related practices have skyrocketed throughout the Western world. Although meditation has been documented to have its origins in the Indian Vedas (1500 BCE), the oldest scripts of Hinduism, some argue that the practice could have existed as far back as 2600 BCE, where the Hindu deity Shiva is portrayed practicing Tantric Yoga (below). Only recently, with the help of medical technology, have scientists been able to discover the effects of meditation far beyond its psychological and spiritual background. We are now beginning to understand how this ancient practice effects humans and the mind on a biological level.

Struggling to Survive
To the outside world, I am a successful, intelligent person with a wealth of possibilities in front of me. However, fear and doubt seem to permeate my every thought throughout the day and I wonder if I will ever find success. I recently completed a Ph.D. in education and have multiple peer-reviewed journal articles to date.

Who is Draco Malfoy?
Over the years, the Harry Potter fandom has conjured up many different theories, like Professor Snape being a vampire or Sirius Black and Remus Lupin being secret lovers. However, with little evidence supporting these theories many of them have been contradicted by not only the Harry Potter book series but by the author J.K. Rowling herself. Be that as it may, one theory that has yet to be disproved, is the idea that Draco Malfoy is, in fact, a werewolf.

In Defence of the Tank #3: WW1 Part 2 - The Arms Race Begins.
In the last article, we investigated the introduction of the tank and its premature battlefield debut at The Battle of Flers-Courcelette. By introducing the MK1 tank too early, and in numbers too few, the British were unable to fully capitalise on their new invention. Even more worrisome for the British, it gave the Germans the time and breathing room they needed to develop counters to it.

Best Oktoberfest Beers
Oktoberfest is a drinker's holiday, and to a point, it's where the best beers of the season battle like they're competing for a spot in Valhalla. It's a time when guys with beer bellies dress in lederhosen and wear beards while playing tubas, and a time when girls polka down like it's 1899.
