    Counterfeit Caution

    Counterfeit Caution

People are being diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) from using bootleg THC cartridges containing hydrogen cyanide, and I can’t help but wonder how we got to this point. The tests on legal vaping carts did not contain hydrogen cyanide, so we can’t blame this on vape nation. However, the tainted THC carts show us symptoms of a larger problem in America. Cannabis is considered a schedule one narcotic federally in our country. This means that we do not recognize it as having any healthcare applications and believe that it is highly addictive. Another Schedule I narcotic is PCP. Even methamphetamine is considered a Schedule II narcotic, which is legal to prescribe in the US under the name Desoxyn. As research has shown us, cannabis has a myriad of health benefits from anti-inflammatory and pain relief to seizure and PTSD, and the scheduling of medications in the US is extremely political. Because of the extreme anti-marijuana propaganda from the 1930s, cannabis was thrown into Schedule I, and being caught selling or using it can send you to jail and cause hefty fines.

Hemp is inarguably one of the most versatile and useful plants on the planet. In fact, it was so important to our economy that farmers in the colonial days were once required to grow hemp for use of the fibers to produce commodities like paper, ropes, and fuel. The declaration of independence was drafted on hemp paper, George Washington and John Adams farmed hemp, and President Abraham Lincoln used hemp oil to fuel his lamps.

    Marijuana

A lot of people disregard marijuana, weed, pot, reefer, etc. as a gateway drug. I believe it can be depending on the person, as it was in my case. Trying any substance can easily lead to curiosity of other substances. I smoked marijuana for the first time my freshman year in high school. I fell in love with the effects of being high. I got to the point to where I would skip class to get high with friends. My senior year I would smoke marijuana every night before bed. I noticed I would be extremely sleepy and groggy the next morning. I would fall asleep during class and get in trouble. Marijuana would make me lazy, tired, and unproductive. I told myself I would never try any other drug, especially meth or heroin. Marijuana would lead me to curiosity of other substances later on.

Make Your Fortune with Canada's Legalization of Marijuana

Make Your Fortune with Canada's Legalization of Marijuana

Investors have never been faced with a market which is so wide open while the market is in its infancy. We know the market in Canada and the United States will multiply by at least five times, and perhaps by 10 times or more. That is going to create many stock market successes. Picking who will finish first in this very quickly maturing group… that’s extraordinarily difficult. The market has already recognized one group of winners. We’re talking about the biggest Canadian producers… those who “planted their flag” not only in the Canadian market, but in the developing European medical Cannabis market. I am convinced that those companies able to establish reputable, reliable, recognizable brands will be the second, and bigger, set of winners—and most investors have not yet come to this realization. That creates an opportunity to make colossally sized gains from a new set of stocks. Brands will be so important because they’ve always been important to consumers. When a consumer goes to buy orange juice, he or she might have an idea of the varietal in mind… the part of the world he or she is looking to have juice from… but most likely something that is a known brand. Maybe it’ll be low to medium priced juice. And as our consumer moves up the value chain, brands become even more important. That brand is what tells consumers what to expect from the product. At the very high end, the way people plan their Investor’s Report to Cannabis is no different. People will want different types, or at least different effects. But they will come to depend on brands to tell them what to expect, rather than having to become a Cannabis guru. The companies that realize the importance of branding and have chosen to build their brand where consumers are choosiest of all: Medical Cannabis. Consumers who currently have to ask their doctors or quiz overworked retail associates at a dispensary to find the right mix of THC and CBD can count on their brand to get exactly what they want every time they buy.
