Write. Right or Wrong.
What if I pour my heart on a page, only for it to go unseen? What if I've been reading things all wrong? What if my time and talents waste away with every stroke of a key? This writing thing isn't for the weak, but what if I'm not strong?
ToriPublished 2 years ago in MotivationTo Mom: My Surrogacy Journey was to pay off my debt.
Mom, when I told you I had decided to do something remarkable, you sat down to listen to me. When you first heard me say I was in the process of becoming a gestational surrogate and I was going to help a couple achieve their dream of becoming parents, you got so upset and walked away.
The Origins of 420, 710, and Other Weed Holidays
If you smoke weed, or even if you don’t, you’ve probably heard of the number 420 since it’s become synonymous with marijuana culture. When people think of weed holidays, the first one that immediately comes to mind is most likely the celebration that takes place on April 20th. But there are actually tons of cannabis holidays that take place throughout the year!

Let’s pretend we didn’t stumble home last night in a drunken stammer and fall asleep on the kitchen floor, that you aren’t more like the sister I always wanted than the mother I never had. Let’s look past the empty bottles we stashed in our bags because recycling is important and we have to save the Albatross. Seriously, I never do this, pour my heart into a flask and ask someone to drink it, but there’s something I need to say, something you should have known long ago, but I was terrified you would hate me.

It’s the fur that gets me. I know that they are meant to be our superiors but do they have to be so furry? Spending every day of my life following them around with a broom, collecting hair, it’s monotonous but I should count myself lucky, at least I am not on shovelling duty.
Ben ShelleyPublished 2 years ago in FictionSaying Goodbye (For Now) To My Morbid Hobby Turned Obsession
In recent years, I’ve taken up a, more often than not, rather morbid hobby; one that millions of Americans indulge in every day. As a nation and as a global society, our obsession with this particular genre of information has inspired TV shows, movies, books, and entire societies/communities; both digital and not.

I spent the entire pandemic chomping at the bit in anticipation of enjoying live music once again. While I have gone to as many shows as I can handle since the world began reopening, I have also been doing my fair share of road trips and travel.
Las MatamaridosPublished 2 years ago in BeatThe College Dropout: Analysing The Cultural Impact of Kanye West's Debut Album.
‘Global hip-hop has emerged as a culture that encourages and integrates innovative practises of artistic expression, knowledge production, social identification, and political mobilization. In these respects, it transcends and contests conventional constructions of identity, race, nation, community, aesthetichs, and knowledge’ (Morgan, Bennett, 2011, p.177)
The 12th Bus
Quiet surrounded the station. The man leaned against a column half concealed by shadow, expressionless, deep in thought. He wore a grey double-breasted woollen jacket, black leather shoes and a black homburg hat, his eyes hidden under the tilted brim. The cold night-time air was speckled with moisture. Fog from the river crawled out from the darkness and made a diaphanous blanket across the road. Above him there was an old lamp shining down a cone of yellow, stuttering light. He drew on a cigarette and briefly regarded it before flicking it into the bin. It was almost time.

Dear Mama, I think I knew you were going to die. Okay, hear me out, I know it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but a month before it happened, I had a dream that all my teeth were falling out. Each and every one of them. One by one, they would slip into my hands. I would try to shove them back in, anxiously trying to put together an undone puzzle. In the dream, my gums gushed raw blood. My hands dripped with the aftermath of loss. I screamed for hours. At the time, I thought my biggest issue was going to be, how will I chew my food? When I woke up, I wrote it all down in my silly notes before, of course, texting my friend.
Anime Shows and Movies to Start Watching (For Beginners)
I grew up watching anime shows and movies since I was 5 years old, and ever since that time I have come across some good (and not so good) anime shows and movies. Some of those I've come across is simply a chef's kiss, while others are.........just god awful.

We were really excited for this, weren't we? For the first time in 31 years, we had the Battle of Alberta in the Stanley Cup Playoffs; an occurrence that--many say--was set to happen in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused that season to be paused. We all salivated over this, and yes, I was part of the "we all." I was six years old when the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers last met in the playoffs, and I wasn't even thinking about hockey at that time, so this was really my first time experiencing this. I was looking for a seven-game, knock 'em out, street fight between these two longtime provincial foes. Instead, we got a short series that went the way of the Edmonton Oilers.

Dear Mummy, You’ve been gone a long time. Far too long in my opinion. But that’s the weird thing about life and death isn’t it? There is not enough time in life; we will always say that we wish we could have longer with our loved ones before they depart. Yet when the time does indeed arrive, the aftermath seems to last far beyond what seems bearable; there is too much time in death. That’s my takeaway from the past 13 years without you anyway.
The Winter Wyrm
“There weren’t always dragons in the valley. Not when the Tree of Fortunes was planted. Not during the reign of the Silvan King. Not even during the elder days when stars and men danced together in the cool of the day. But the Silvan King left these lands long ago, and he took the stars with him.”

Grinding in the dark. It sounds dirty, perhaps even a little enjoyable to some… To most, it may seem like you have something to hide. I’ve had all of the above reactions from my peers and more when I share my view on the subject.
Outrageous OptimismPublished 2 years ago in PsycheDating In My Mid-Twenties
There are many things my adolescent years did not prepare me for as an adult. For instance, how to file my taxes, how to build credit, and how to apply for student loans. Now, I can add one more item to this list - dating.
we heard about it on meeting st.
It is Wednesday, May 25th, 2022, at 9:24 AM. Twenty-four hours haven’t passed since the atrocity in Uvalde, Texas. Twenty-four days haven’t passed since the bloodbath in Buffalo, New York. I see no need to revise, rewrite, or stretch this piece over a collection of days to weeks, and so on. I’m not writing this to submit to any outlet or to impress anyone. And quite honestly, this may be the first time I’ve written anything in response to an event of this scale, or any national, worldwide event at all, really. There was an irritation within my being this morning. From the time I woke up to after I finished showering. And even now, as I’m sitting here, writing this piece. When I heard about the news yesterday, I called a couple of my friends to see if they’d heard about it, as well. It seemed I was a bit late to the party, for lack of a better expression, because I was met with the following:
What Does It Mean to Be Aware, to Understand and To Accept?
Are you aware of this? Awareness implies that you are familiar with the existence of something. It might be a common everyday item, a concept you have heard about at university, or maybe you have come across something while reading your news feed or social media. You might have heard about quantum computing, for example. Unless you are a geek, you probably do not really know what it looks like, where can you find one or how to use it. The tech section at the department store does not offer any yet, and neither do you find it on Amazon. It must be something rare. At least you are aware that there is such kind of invention and that somebody somewhere is using it for something.
