Almost as if the creation story that most people come across in the Bible (world's number #1 best selling book, btw) reminds us that as we reproduce and multiply and- hold up let me try to grab a quote. "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” What that doesn't mean is to dominate the earth in a way that toxifies it, destroying the natural abundance that it blesses us with. Oh, man, I remember the days of back-to-back haiku days, and everyone subsequently getting thrown off by the low read counts versus likes because the default read length is 1 minute but 17 syllables will never take that long. Nice little bit of nostalgia. Also, another (and some might say superior) Stephen on Vocal wrote a nice piece that sums up the submission hustle well. I respect the vulnerability required to include the rejection count.
