Nicely Done. Congrats on Top Story.
This poem offers a sad perspective on the fleeting essence of life and is both thought-provoking and highly touching.
I love the repetition of e words in both stanzas: evanescence, eventual, inEvitable, eternity in the first; and existence, exist, evanescence in the second. Your favorite word - 4 syllables defended by a total of 4 e words, your least favorite 3 syllables and justified by 3 e words. Evanescence appeared in both stanzas and the existence is repeated in the 2nd with the word hidden in its core - exist. This structure powers both the rhythm of the poem and the meaning, making it very special indeed. My question is simple. Did you do this consciously or unconsciously? This is a truly wonderful poem, Randy. I'm sorry I missed it the first-time round. Congratulations on Top Story! Richly deserved!
Congrats on TS. Nice job!

Such a thoughtful beautiful and straight to the heart account of two words that reflect each other yet embrace like yin and yang.

You have brought us a nature-related idea. Congratulations and thank you.
I don't know~ Evanescence has a good band, though. Sorry, I had to. I do agree with your poem; evanescence is one of my favorite words as well. Congrats on Top Story!

Oh what is this? Totally delayed! Congrats Randy!!

Nice. This was clever as I would expect.
And yet here we all are, trying to be remembered.
Great challenge and great words! The cotton is clearing from my head...seeing things that were there all along but where? *Published 20 days ago???* 😳
Accurate!
Evanescence is a smashing word!
I love these word choices, Randy! I really love "Evanescence" as well 🥹
This is so poignantly beautiful, yet a little sad. Evanescence is such a lovely word for such a painful meaning. We have to do our best existence before we evanesce. Makes one think on it.
Existence is pure torture without some resemblance of meaning
Pure authentic!!!💕❤️❤️
