Eat your pumpkins!
Halloween has always been my favourite time of year. One of the best parts of Halloween, for me, is the night where we put on our favourite Halloween films and carve the pumpkins. For the next few days, we use all of our pumpkin innards to make yummy food.

InstaPot Beef Stroganoff that Would Disappoint my Babushka (But Tastes Really Good)
Growing up, I had three large influences in my cooking. My nana, who taught me to cook. She taught me the basics and taught me recipes her mother, my Oma, taught her. My dad, who taught me absolutely nothing about how to cook, but taught me I cannot live off of barbeque and spaghetti like some believe. Also my step-mom, Jessi, who came into my life at ten-years-old. She tried her hardest to get me to like vegetables, but was ultimately unsuccessful. So now, at 22, I have an interesting mix of flavors I find nostalgic. I love curries, eggplant parmesan, barbeque flank steak, but ultimately, one dish surpasses them all - beef stroganoff.

Lemon, Lime and Ginger Curd Pie
Of course, you probably know me very well for invading Vocal with my film studies stuff and articles entitled ‘a filmmaker’s guide’. I have often explained that I love to bake as well. Since I was young, I have loved the idea, the creativity and the relaxation of baking different things. I love to make macarons, layer cakes and gingerbread in particular and the activity of it really gets me away from my laptop (where I’m sure you know that I spend most of my life). So, I hope you enjoy me talking about what I bake and why I bake it complete with pictures (if not very good) of me actually baking, my baked goods in the process of being created and when they’re finished. I’m really happy to share this with you. And if you like, you can show me your baking (yes, I spend a lot of time writing, but I also spend a lot of time reading other people’s articles!), I would love to see it. Since I was in school, I was always interested in creating things, whether that be pieces of writing, welding things to make small statues or baking foods and making sweets (candy, if you’re American). I hope you enjoy looking at some of the stuff that has honestly kept me sane, because I seem to be going slightly mad.

Salmon Cakes
Hello my little lovelies! So today I have a recipe for you that just came to me when I was experimenting with some leftovers. I was also curious to do a recipe like this since I was venturing out to cooking new things and honestly it turned out to be a success. I am also trying to be a little healthier since I’m not getting any younger and I need to start taking better care of myself. Because this is a fish recipe, I highly recommend squeezing some lemon over it or adding fresh lemon juice to the mixture. And because salmon is an oily fish there’s no need to use any type of oil with this.

Salsa Time
Salsa Time No, I don’t mean the dance. In fact, I am not a particularly good dancer at all. Just recently I wrote an article about tomatoes. I mentioned in there that I had some tomatoes in my green house. I managed to get quite the harvest this year. So, I decided to try and make some salsa with my tomatoes. I am also going to can some as well. I have never done either before, so this is all new to me.

Soul Foods
Christmas Fattignon There is nothing like the smells of Christmas Holidays with the family, the sound of the cheer and Christmas carols on the radio. The same stuff growing up hearing as a child, always the same even as the times changes and life goes by.
