A Definitive Ranking of "The Conjuring" Franchise
The Conjuring. Whether or not you like horror movies, audiences everywhere have been captivated by the franchise. James Wan first introduced audiences to the saga in 2013, with the first film, rightly named “The Conjuring”. Since then, seven more movies have been released in the universe, and at least two more are known to be in talks of production. The main draw to the films is no doubt their connection to Lorrain and Ed Warren. Ed, a famed demonologist, and Lorrain, a skilled psychic medium, have taken on hundreds of cases throughout their lengthy career. Some include the Amityville Horror house, the Smurl haunting, and The Snedeker House ( best known from the film The Haunting in Connecticut, though not a part of The Conjuring franchise).

Welcome to Northern State...
Have you ever wondered about what happens to those places you see in horror movies? You know, the ones with the ice picks for tools, nurses who push around squeaky wheel chairs and patients who look as though they can see into your soul? Well, if you’ve ever wanted to visit one, here’s your chance. Ladies and gentlemen - welcome to Northern State Hospital.

Oh, How Dangerous
Oh, how dangerous it was to fall in love with him. How naïve I was to think I could be the exception to the heartbreak he left in his wake. Men like him tend to think large of themselves. Cover their fragile egos with body armor Band-Aids that peel off in the light of dreary mornings. But in the night, oh, was he wild. A young girl's dream of adventure and chaos. The way he smelled of cigarettes and gasoline, but his lips tasted of sweet nothings, the same he would whisper to me in the dead of night, wrapped up tight in a blanket to beat the autumn chill.

Lone Survivor
I knew it was all over the second the power went out. Darkness filled the living room, screams could be heard from outside the windows. It was only a matter of time before the radiation got to me. I didn’t dare peek out the window. Instead I sat crouched on the ground, knees to my chest, my face pushed tightly towards my lap. I held my eyes shut for as long as I could, what felt like days.

2021 Spring and Summer Fashion Trends - What to Watch For
Trends in the fashion industry are ever changing! I first started paying attention to them when I was in my early teens. Back then mustaches and chevron patterns were ALL the rage! Style has obviously moved on from then, and trends for this coming year range from neutral and versatile to bold and colorful!

How I Got My Article to Be a Top Google Search Result
About two months ago I had hit a block in my writing. Inspiration wasn’t flowing as it had before and I found myself in a slump of creative nothingness. In my time of desperation, I began writing about any and all topics that crossed my mind. My documents folder grew thick with titles like “The Craze Behind Squishmallows” and “Who Haunts the White House.”

In the Passenger Seat of My Discovery
The concept of a hometown is a broad idea. Some people find solitude in the places they were raised, others in the places they found along the way. But for some of us, the hometown idea is not only a hard one to grasp, but a hurtful one to think about.

I Started an Instagram Blog During Quarantine - Here's How It's Going
Instagram. Love it or hate it, it’s one of the fastest growing social media platforms and most popular amongst Millennials and Gen Z’ers. Add to that the fact that the world has been plunged into a new status quo that involves more time at home on the couch, Instagram is the place to be for anyone looking to put themselves out there in the social media landscape.

Let's Talk About Bigfoot...
I embarked on my journey towards finding the truth in the otherworldly at a young age. Most of my early years of research were spent in front of a TV, gawking at ghost hunting crews. But at 17 I set out on what was supposed to be a routine day - and my entire perspective and research method has since shifted. For the past five years, I’ve had to reimagine what the paranormal means to me and how so many people nowadays have it all wrong! Some of the most common misconceptions in the fields of the paranormal and cryptozoology surround one monster in particular - The Bigfoot.

My Top 4 Easy Day Hikes in Washington
I’ve resided in the pacific northwest for over 22 years now, more specifically, Washington state. I developed a love for the outdoors early in life, thanks in part to my dad who put my 4-year-old self into ski lessons. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to explore the most amazing and remote parts of the state and every location leaves me in awe of the earth’s natural beauty. But for now, I wanted to cover some of the easier hikes in the state for those just looking to get into the outdoors! I’ve taken dozens - possibly hundreds - of hikes, so I had some decisions to make.

What I've Learned From My Two Years Writing on Vocal
Since I was a kid, I've always known that I wanted to be a writer of some sort. It began as the ramblings of a teenage girl, and eventually grew to a slam poetry interest in high school which then grew into an essay and article interest now in my early 20’s. When I decided to take my writing from my laptop to the world wide web, I wasn’t sure how to begin. I tried building a blog, but with little to no social media presence, it was difficult to get people to the page. I tried entering contests and pitching ideas to publications, but again, with no experience and no college degree, I was left in the dust. That is until I found Vocal!

Who's Your Cryptid Counterpart?
We all have our counterparts in the world. Usually, they’re described as soulmates, romantic or platonic. But outside of the world we know, there are more things we have in common with the supernatural than many realize. Our personalities and energies draw us to find those who are meant to be in our lives… and who’s to say that can’t include monsters?
