Instead of relying on substances to cope with stress, adopting healthier coping strategies can make a significant difference in managing stress effectively.

Nail-biting when stressed has a physiological component, often associated with under or over-arousal. Addressing the root cause of stress can help reduce nail-biting tendencies. Similarly, stress-eating is a negative feedback loop that may provide temporary relief but can lead to feelings of guilt and further stress. Finding adaptive coping techniques and maintaining a balanced approach to eating is essential in managing stress.
