‘Murder Mystery 2’: Story

Full-time investigators Scratch (Adam Sandler) and Audrey (Jennifer Aniston) are attempting to get their detective office going. When their friend Maharaja is kidnapped at his own extravagant wedding, they become part of an international abduction. Will the two be able to solve the kidnapping mystery? Or on the other hand will they personally become the main suspects winding up behind the bars? To find out, you'll have to watch the movie.

‘Murder Mystery 2’: Performances

The story continues exactly where Jennifer Aniston left off in the first one. Actors usually mature over time, and they often have a different perspective on the same character. She, on the other hand, gets the slapstick aspect of the romantic comedy right on screen. You want to keep watching her because of the minute details she manages to add to the character.

Adam Sandler's antics are a lot of fun. He gives the character the vitality it needs. He gives the character a great sense of spontaneity.

Despite its lack of personality, Enrique Arce is memorable. After watching this, you'll probably remember his character from "Money Heist."

Adeel Akhtar, Mark Strong, Mélanie Laurent, and the rest of the supporting cast don't have much to say that even merits mention.

‘Murder Mystery 2’: Script, Direction & Technical Aspects

The writing of James Vanderbilt is funny and delivers the punches that are needed at the right times. However, the supporting characters lack the same depth as in the first movie. The narrative may be rushing to the climax in order to capture the entire scene from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Every supporting character had a lot more to do in the previous movie, and you actually become confused about who is behind the murders. Because the characters aren't particularly well-defined, this scene lacks that unexpected surprise.

Just like Kyle Newacheck did in the first part, Jeremy Garelick takes you on yet another fun adventure. This time, the camera pans across Paris and some exotic islands in the south of Asia. Nonetheless, what's feeling the loss of this time is the unexpected component. Right off the bat, Vanderbilt's not developed on the supporting characters, so you're not really associating any one with them for the homicide. In addition, Garelick fails to include the necessary twists to give this romantic comedy a murder mystery twist. The first part had twists that kept coming until the very end. However, that was simply absent from this one.

Bojan Bazelli's cinematography is exquisite. Everything, from the fast chase scenes to the drone shots from atop the Eiffel Tower, has been so well portrayed on screen that even if some scenes were made with VFX, you won't care. He has done an excellent job of selecting the locations necessary to tell the story. Each city the story jumps on to has been mixed so well with the storyline that it causes you to feel like you're really there with the characters.

The altering by Tom Costain and Brian Robinson is tight and doesn't allow the story to droop for even a little. It immediately gets into the problems that the lead couple is having, and the next thing you know, you're in the middle of the story where the murder takes place. Very clear and to the point, making viewing even more enjoyable.

The music of Rupert Gregson-Williams is not out of the ordinary. You never find yourself gasping, and the music only serves to ratchet up the tension.

Murder Mysteries 2: Can Children View It?

Ans: Yes watch it

Outlook's Decision

The sequel to Murder Mystery is an excellent addition to the series. Every shot features Jennifer Aniston, who is brilliantly supported by Adam Sandler's antics. They make a pair that never leaves you bored. However, if the film is compared to the first part, it falls slightly behind in terms of the plot because all of the characters are not explored as thoroughly as they were in the first part. Aside from that, almost everything about the movie is positive. Yes, it is a light-hearted weekend watch. I'm going to give it 3.5 stars.
