Move Over Diamonds, There's a New Best Friend Comin' to Town
Who says diamonds are a girl's best friend and dogs are a guy's best friend? It's time to update that saying. But, yes, I still do love diamonds.
Corinne JenkinsPublished 3 years ago in PetlifeHeather the Hamster
I hate thinking of Heather as being a ‘purchase’. I often forget that I actually paid to have my little friend in my life. If anyone ever asked me ‘what do you think has been your best ever purchase’ I had maybe mentioned a new piece of filming equipment that had advanced my filmmaking or a new book that brought insight to a fictional world I loved, but now?
Megan KingsburyPublished 3 years ago in PetlifeHow Nintendo Saved My Life
Growing up as a child, I was always fascinated with Nintendo, specifically the Legend of Zelda franchise. I've always loved the storyline behind video game plots. In my childlike mind, I used to compare it to a high-quality movie that you could control. I started gaming out young, sitting beside my mother as she would play different games on our good ole trustworthy GameCube such as Harvest Moon, Final Fantasy, and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. I loved watching my mom play her video games in the late quiet of the night.

Society looks down on people who collect the scraps of others, but what they don't realize is that they could get more money in one day than what they get in one week working at their daily job from selling other peoples unwanted goods.

My First Film Camera
Spring had come to stay in Boise, Idaho. The bright, April afternoon light filtered through the windows and around the bookcases and clothing racks that lined them. Whether as a result of the sunshine or thanks to the warmth of my own nostalgia, I remember a corner of the thrift store being bathed in orange light, with dust and the smell of old books sparkling in the air.

"Not all Those Who Wander are Lost." -C.S. Lewis I guess you could say I have always been a stray magnet. Even as a very young child I remember feeling an odd, soulful connection to the many homeless wanderers that somehow managed to find me wherever I happened to be. On the swing set in my yard, playing in the wooded area behind our house or just walking home from school, no place was immune to what I believed to be my ability to attract animals in need.

I was dealing with rejection long before I ever became a published writer. There's a good possibility that this is why I've been able to stick it out in this industry of sorry-not-for-us emails and crippling rebuffs.
8 Tricks Photographers Use to Make Foods and Drinks Look Better
It is the job of food photographers to make their photos look good. They can make their pictures look perfect by using some tricks of their trade. It is completely legal to do so because they are advertising the food with the picture and not the meal itself.

I’ve been thinking about getting rubber soled shoes for our dog. Something to slow her down when she slams through the doggie door at the back of the house when she hears a dog in the front. Actually, I don’t know is she sees, smells, or hears the intruder on the sidewalk because my senses do not alert me to the presence of the four-legged friends, but she always knows.

For me, walking into a thrift store feels like visiting a museum. Seeing all the items displayed on the shelves always triggers both curiosity and nostalgia.

Laura Blu SandíaPublished 3 years ago in PetlifeWhat is Intimacy and Sexology?
Throughout my life I heard the word "intimacy" and I always thought about physical touch or kissing. Maybe it was due to all of the romance movies I watched or the Stevie Wonder songs that talked about love like an all encompassing, touchy-feely, I would move mountains and stars for you, kind of way. Truth be told like most women I've probably seen one too many romantic comedies that feed us all unrealistic fluffy expectations of love. However, sex is no different. The majority (whether wanting to admit it or not) have watched enough porn to know how unrealistic the porn narratives we were first exposed to are. They are far different than the real act of sex in way more ways than one. Most of us aren't knocking boots with a hot plumber coming to unclog your sink with his "big plunger".

I remember it was a midsummer day in New Hampshire, The sky was clear and we were on our way to the beach. It was one of the few trips we had gone on as a "family" including myself, my brother Tommy, Mom and her boyfriend Eddie. The first stop of the day was to an open house for prebuilt modular homes. Mom thought it would be fun to look around for a cheap new house despite the fact we wouldn't ever be able to afford one. I understood why she wanted to keep her hopes up though, our house was a beaten down, single wide trailer with plastic sheeted windows and multiple holes in the roof. Locals and family friends had named it "The Hippie Shack".
Mollie HarrisonPublished 3 years ago in Petlife'Loop Hero' is the Perfect Game for a Post-Covid World
While the title of this sophomore release from indie studio Four Quarters is appropriate, albeit bromide, I find it unfortunate that "Oblivion" is already a shopworn gaming trademark, as that is the word that keeps coming to mind as I loop my way closer and closer to 100 hours of game time.
