The Twisted Tale of a Wilted White Rose.
Fresh. This tabula rasa of its sort was my chance to redeem myself. Show the world, and I, that I had purpose in living. Existing. I had become so much of a survivor, in the previous settling of events, that I had forgotten how much of 'me' I was initially.

It was packed full of people at the Hutcherson farm on October 20th, 2013. It was a Sunday, meaning each family had their children out and picked apples for the day. The line to get in wasn't that long, having due to a traffic guard right in the middle to guide each of us. Once parked, everyone would leave their vehicles and head straight toward the orchard.
Playoffs? Are You Kidding Me?
Hello readers, I hope you all have been enjoying my recent posts. It’s been a while since I’ve written an NFL blog, but I’ve decided to give it another try. We are almost a third of the way through the 2022-23 NFL season and so far, there have been a handful of teams that did not make the postseason last year but have showed some noticeable improvement and/or displayed flashes of upside that seem to indicate they could be contenders when January arrives. I’ve identified seven such teams and consulted my (imaginary) magic eight ball to seek answers to the question… will (insert team name here) make the playoffs this season?

A knock on the front door interrupted my mid-morning book time. I glanced at my mug. Barely half of my tea was gone and it was still pretty warm. I’m so not ready for social interaction yet, I thought. I haven’t even finished my tea. Not nearly enough caffeine is in my system. Ugh. But I had to answer the door. Not many knew that I had Rowena and Duncan here with me, and most people didn’t react well to the sight of Brownies, which hurt both of my friends feelings, though they were very good at hiding that.

I'm at that age where most of my older memories of the past have that fuzzy quality to them. The finer details remain unfocused, stolen over time. Scenes and images flash by in a blur, the memories fluid. Some I wish I could just grasp in my hands and hold tight, allowing the chance to reminisce a bit, but they slip through like sand. Others I would love to banish from my mind forever, no amount of "lesson-learned" a lure enough to keep them.

No one knows her as I do. Only I witnessed her smile the way I do. Only I saw her cry the way she did. Only I see the pain she has to endure.

I wrote about a true crime case a while back that took place in Australia in the 1940s that continues to boggle minds today. This is my first dive into a haunted house in Australia, though. The entire continent has a long and rich history, going back at least 65,000 years of indigenous Australians. Travel with me now as we head over to look at a place known as Australia’s most haunted house in New South Wales, the Monte Cristo Homestead.

Innovation; The Unknown Alliance Between Business and Government
Milton Friedman’s view in Capitalism And Freedom proposes the idea that government should exist in the market solely to maximize unconstrained economic freedom. Government intervention into the marketplace that limits or forces consumer decision-making cannot be justified. Friedman’s argument for market fundamentalism is seemingly at odds with the historical reality of the role of government in the United States. From state police powers, to Progressive Era reforms, through the New Deal government whether being state or federal has always shaped the contours of capitalism through political, social, and cultural change. Friedmans point of view differs from the consumer health and environmental protections era (1964-1977) and the rise of the idea of the developmental state. Friedman’s philosophy has guided the idea of market fundamentalism within the false notions of the invisible hand driving innovation instead of a combination of public and private sectors. This idea is negligent to the fact that government presence in the innovation economy acts as the only entity that can invest in certain sectors. The notion that the government shouldn’t pick winners is supplanted by the idea of the government supporting large, medium, and small firms to compete for the best technology.

Ask me what to do in the capital of Japan for 4 days, if all the main sights were meticulously examined 2 years ago, and Tokyo’s chaotic skyscraper buildings are already dazzling to the eyes. I could only find one answer to this question. In Tokyo - to eat! Some will say what a gastro-concerned approach, I should have gone through their Buddhist-Shinto remakes again, absorbing the concrete heritage of centuries. Nonsense, I will answer you, in Tokyo, you need to absorb completely different things!

As a young man, I was heavily into the punk rock scene, and via my involvement in that, I produced a crude music fanzine called Aural Nightmares. I also attended many local gigs, starting off with mainstream acts, such as Chelsea and the Vibrators, but later branching off into the anarcho-punk sector, seeing bands like Conflict, Amebix and the Subhumans.
Every Eye Sheds Tears
I first met Claire when we still lived close and before Dad left. She invited me to her sixth birthday party since Dad and Phil had been working together for a year. While she and the other kindergarteners got their faces painted by the princess or took turns riding her new pony, I sat alone at a table, swinging my preschooler legs and nibbling on pizza.

Alt-Right enthusiast, hold on to your hats, as we have become aware of yet another familiar nostalgic cartoon received a progressive face-lift. The beloved child classic Scooby-Doo now joins the ranks of other American animation to include an LGBTQ+ representative. Velma Dinkley recently expressed her amorous attraction to another female character in Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo and I am just waiting to see how the internet is going to react.

Even though the past two years have been comparable to surviving a thunderstorm in the open sea. I'm grateful to be living in a place somewhere close to nature. I get to go to a beautiful, lush park close to home and have walks that help me clear my own internal storms.
