Disney Lyrics taught me how to live!
My teenage grade school years were between 1998-2002. As much as I obsessed over Backstreet Boys, Brittany Spears, N'Sync, Handson, 98 Degrees, and other 90's pop, the music that helped me through those years was Disney songs. Like most children, I started to watch the wonderful world of Disney as a young child. My elementary school years is when Disney lyrics began to get me through tough times. I was seriously bullied as a child and only had one true friend. As much as I loved hanging out with Charlene, we couldn't be together 24/7. So, I had Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, and Ariel as my best friends. Their personal songs in each of their movies gave me hope, happiness, courage, confidence, and a little bit of magic. How? Well, let's break this down.

American Idol Upset Me
Hear me out; I'm a massive fan of American Idol even though I am Canadian. I have been a loyal viewer since Kelly Clarkson's big win in 2002. That is nineteen years of Idol love. Today is my very first rant to the world ever in my life. Don't get me wrong, I rant, just never on a world platform. So, here goes.

The Legend Of Clarice
I am Clarice, Goddess of the Ocean. Have you heard my legend? I spend my days watching over ships on the horizon as I walk the Pacific Ocean waters, helping victims cross over to a better place. Some I have saved, but few are worthy of such a gift. Unlike most goddesses, I was not born into this role - I was given the choice of life or death on November 28, 1717. Travelling aboard a slave ship on its way to Chile, Blackbeard and his pirates hijacked the ship. I saw men get shot down while we women and children walked the plank. Hundreds of years later, the screams and cries of the victims continue to haunt me. I was praying for salvation as I sank to the bottom of the ocean when Poseidon himself came to me.

Anxiety and me!
Anxiety is your body's natural response to stress. It's a feeling of fear or apprehension about what's to come. If you are like me, anxiety can become quite an embellished experience. I merely go to the worst-case scenario in my mind. I have an example of my anxiety embellishments to share with you today that happened to me over the weekend.

Go For It!
You just never know when something amazing will happen in your life. I received a text message from Matt (My Fiance) on Feb 18th at 8:41 am. It read "You have the perfect voice for this" with an attachment to a website for audiobook auditions. Though, "ok?" but I looked the website over. It was pretty easy to get started. Step-by-step instructions. So, I followed each step. I completed the tax forms so I could get paid and added in my payroll info. Next, I looked at some books to audition for. A couple intrigued me. So, I printed out the audition scrips. I began to read the script in my head and it sounded pretty good. But reading out loud was something different. How do I do this? I thought to myself. So, I decided to get onto YouTube and watch some voice-over tips and tutorials. Spent a couple of days watching many videos. I also checked out Groupon for some audio voice classes. Sure enough, there was a Voice Over for Beginner’s Class for only $10. I bought the Groupon and passed the class that day. (I'm an overachiever) Next, Matt set me up in our basement with his home studio. So, I decided to give this a try. I recorded my first script, did the editing, and sent it to the Amazon author. I was still a little unsure if I sounded right. So, I decided to go onto iTunes and listen to some audiobooks from my phone (Not sure why I haven’t thought of that yet) and I instantly realized my gut was right, I did not sound clear AT ALL! I was now feeling disappointed because I sent in an audition that sucked. Well, to me it sucked. We are our worst and hardest critics after all. When Matt came home that night from work I got him to listen to my recording. He agreed that it wasn’t the best audio and that I read it pretty fast. We tried to play around with some effects, but it just didn’t clean up the audio to perfection. So, I closed my laptop and tried to go to bed. I woke up the next morning and grabbed my cell to see what I missed on social media while I was sleeping. (Addicted much!) I noticed an email. So, I opened up my email app and there was an email from the Amazon author I auditioned for.

The Creek in Cathedral Bistro
What makes a restaurant local? Most answer this question with a non franchised business. Although people can live locally that own the franchised restaurant, it doesn't make it local. The restaurant must be locally owned and locally operated. With that being said let me tell you about a thriving local restaurant in my city.

It's I Do, But at What Cost?
Every item you own has a story to tell. A story about how it was made, who owned it first, what was the original price, why did the item's previous owner sell it or gave it away? I'm talking about those thrift finds. New or old. Every item's story deserves to be told. Today I am inspired to write about my latest thrift find; my wedding dress.

Toxic People
I’ve been seeing a lot of my friends post on social media about walking away from toxic people in their life. "Cleaning their friend's" list you could say. Such reasons as breakups and having to walk away from your mutual friends. Breakups are hard enough without those friends wanting to tell you everything other person is up to or taking sides perhaps. I know after my divorce I had to cut a lot of people out.

The Naked Man In The Mirror
I woke up excited on Saturday, October 29, 2013. Today I was getting my Zumba certificate at my local YMCA. I have been taking a Zumba class for a year and was loving it. So, I decided to become an instructor. I made my usual breakfast of apple cinnamon oatmeal with a banana. I packed a lunch and filled my water bottle. Today was going to be a fun day of learning and dancing.
