Bex Jordan has just published a beautiful poem about isolation and re-connection: https://vocal.media/poets/connection-ilmd0s2r, it deserves a thorough read.

Riju Chaulagai is a creator from Nepal in her early twenties; English is her second language, but I think she has absolutely amazing skills. A couple good examples--https://vocal.media/poets/mind-s-eye-2oze06kd https://vocal.media/poets/oak-and-i-a-youth

That was a great and lovely piece and love how it’s set in three different countries. I love this rendition of Mary Queen of Scots: https://vocal.media/history/tragic-crown

Hi, I'm R.C. I create poetry and the occasional fiction piece. I'm here to champion the lovely Muchtar Suryawan. Her poem, Escapism, is a beautifully surreal dance in the cosmos https://vocal.media/poets/escapism-s2b0alg and her haiku, Autobiography, takes the breath from your lungs, https://vocal.media/poets/autobiography-mbpf0l0bqs and, lastly, Mary's Gold, a fiction submission from a previous challenge summers ago :) https://vocal.media/fiction/mary-s-gold-kkmgm70d75

“Sick of Nothing New,” by Chloe J. The beauty in this is transcendent. It should be read by many. Thank you.

I just read Jenny Blue's "The day of the setting sun". Splendid and marvelous, https://vocal.media/poets/the-day-of-the-setting-sun

Someone I've made friends with on Vocal just this week is Catherine Dorian, one of those rare individuals who takes the time to read your stories properly and then tells you what she thought. Catherine's comments have in turn made me start to think about my own works in new ways. She's just the sort of person you hope to meet when you join a writing community. As for Catherine's own work, let me steer you towards her latest, an interesting and informative biographical piece on a topic I'm fairly sure you'll never have thought of. I know I hadn't! If you use the "insights" feature as I do, then I guarantee you'll be clicking on "niche topic" and "expert opinions." You can read Catherine's absorbing specialist study at the link below: https://vocal.media/history/finding-a-name

The lovely Sonia Heidi Unruh has a series going where she asks new subscribers for 2 words and writes a limerick and I am loving it. Here is my favorite one: https://vocal.media/poets/i-recommend-the-salad-option. But there are so many more stories from Sonia that I absolutely love. This one from Beat is just amazing. https://vocal.media/beat/longing-belonging. OH, and this one is a teen drama with a broken mirror that is so clever and so gripping: https://vocal.media/horror/show-me-true. She truly is a wonderful writer. Go check her out!

Dear Vocal, I want to give a shout-out to Jay Kantor as a writer to check out. I love all his stories, but I just read one of his older ones, Rescue --Found here https://vocal.media/petlife/rescue-sj3sak0gl7 -- and I absolutely loved it. It's a very heartfelt piece on adopting corgis. Please check it out, Sincerely, Mother

    D. Alexandra Porter wrote a tribute, well my name is on it, but I want to mention the other names on it. https://vocal.media/humans/vocal-inspirations. Please have a read. Thank you.

I enjoyed reading this article https://vocal.media/geeks/the-little-mermaid-review-m42e50w6q by L.C. Schafer. I enjoy it when creators are willing to tackle stories/movies/articles etc. that have a controversial nature. What perplexes me is that I've made a comment on that story days ago, and it's no longer there. I sent a request to the support team on 4th July 2023, and still have not heard back from them yet. I would like to know if my comment was just "too controversial" for Vocal's taste or if it was just removed from via the spam filter since it had hyperlinks attached.

All of these creators 👇👇👇👇👇 Legends, all of them. So much heart here.. ❤❤❤❤

Gail Wylie's https://vocal.media/history/a-woman-of-the-plains, 'A Woman of the plains' resonated with me. Maybe because I possess a tiny bit of the Indian blood somewhere in my DNA. Samantha Debate's https://vocal.media/history/girls-can-shoot-too, 'Girls can shoot to', continues in the same vein. Jordan Sky Daniels's https://vocal.media/history/time-travel-isn-t-for-black-people-, and https://vocal.media/art/harmony-hoz0cx0 rounds out todays lot. Thank you.

  • Hello, Mike from The Vocal Social Society on Facebook, if you are not a member we would love you to join us. I am late as always, but here are five excellent stories worth your time. Before you close out this thread, I wanted to get this one in. Kristen Balyeats poem You https://vocal.media/poets/y-o-u-kb8b0ea7. This is a poem that needs to read especially by those who are struggling. A beautiful affirmation about living and the beauty of each person's existence ♥️

Hey Vocal world, check out Mackenzie Davis - https://vocal.media/authors/mackenzie-davis-rom8150t6m - a writer of extraordinary vision and execution. You may have seen her recent top story, Bedrock. I am particularly enjoying her microfiction series -- 100 word stories (so lyrical they read like poetry) inspired by a photo. My favorites include: https://vocal.media/fiction/just-before-they-found-me https://vocal.media/fiction/and-miles-of-tunnels-beneath-the-gargoyles https://vocal.media/fiction/i-wanted-a-dog Among the amazing poems in her portfolio, I am particularly intrigued by her "poetic emulations", or poems in dialogue with another poet's work. Here are a few examples: https://vocal.media/poets/a-void-of-plums https://vocal.media/poets/reality-check-28tm04b4 Her profile quotes Lewis Carroll -- "Learn to look at all things with a sort of mental squint." I love how reading her work is like looking through a prism.
