Easy Spiced Almond Cookies
Of course, you probably know me very well for invading Vocal with my film studies stuff and articles entitled ‘a filmmaker’s guide’. I have often explained that I love to bake as well. Since I was young, I have loved the idea, the creativity and the relaxation of baking different things. I love to make macarons, layer cakes and gingerbread in particular and the activity of it really gets me away from my laptop (where I’m sure you know that I spend most of my life). So, I hope you enjoy me talking about what I bake and why I bake it complete with pictures (if not very good) of me actually baking, my baked goods in the process of being created and when they’re finished. I’m really happy to share this with you. And if you like, you can show me your baking (yes, I spend a lot of time writing, but I also spend a lot of time reading other people’s articles!), I would love to see it. Since I was in school, I was always interested in creating things, whether that be pieces of writing, welding things to make small statues or baking foods and making sweets (candy, if you’re American). I hope you enjoy looking at some of the stuff that has honestly kept me sane, because I seem to be going slightly mad.

Coffee: The Super Hero of Beverages!
Coffee: Just for the record, coffee is not your friend. Coffee is a liar. To be fair, perhaps coffee isn't lying. Perhaps it actually believes it's your friend. It believes this in the same way that a drunken stranger believes you are her friend as she grabs you by the arm and drags you onto the dance floor at a wealthy cousin's wedding. Maybe it believes this in the same way that a stranger on the bus believes you are friends and helps his or herself to one of your pretzel bites. Or maybe it believes none of these things but feels as though it's simply being kind.

More Reasons To Eat Peanut Butter
Today things might get a little sticky…but that’s only because we’re talking about peanut butter. That delicious spread which makes up one half of the perfect pairing knows as the PB and J. If you’re allergic to peanuts, then you probably won’t like this video because we’re talking about all the health benefits of peanut butter. Is it really good for you? Can I eat too much peanut butter? Can it help you lose weight? We’re talking all that and more! Just before we get into the good stuff, when we say peanut butter, we’re talking about organic, basically non processed PB. Often you’ll find commercial brands have added sugar and oils that helps prevent separation and can make them pretty unhealthy. Always read the label, the only thing that should be in your peanut butter is, well..peanuts!

veganism
Hi, I want to talk to you guys about veganism, I know I know, people don't like vegans because we're seen as pushy, preachy, obnoxious, so on and so forth. But hear me out, we don't mean to come off as obnoxious or any of the above, what we want is to teach you guys about the way your food is brought from farm to plate, we want you to know what you're eating and putting in your body, not because we hate you or want to "force our views on you" in fact its the opposite. Yes the opposite, we promote watching a documentary on youtube which is two hours long, and to be quite honest very graphic, so I'll spare you, unless you already know what the documentary is called and have seen it, as I have. so let me dive in, as I've been slightly rambling so far.

The Story Behind Gallo Pinto
Have you tried Gallo Pinto? If not, then you’re missing out on a staple food here in Costa Rica! Gallo Pinto is the national dish of Costa Rica, consisting of beans and rice. Sometimes it is topped with scrambled or fried eggs, I like two fried eggs on mine.. and Salsa Lizano, the latter which is a favorite condiment of Ticos. Gallo Pinto is simple and nourishing. With that said, you can always kick it up a notch with some meat, pica (hot sauce) & a few hot peppers.
