How I Survive And Thrive In Cambodia
You might think that living on $10 a day in Cambodia is a sign of poverty or hardship, but for me and my wife (Sophorn), it is a choice. We decided to stay in this beautiful country, not because we had to, but because we wanted to. We wanted to live a simple, sustainable and fulfilling life, close to nature and away from the stress and consumerism of the modern world.

How To Build A Retirement Portfolio With Perennial Crops
When I first moved to Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia, I had no idea what to expect. I was a seasoned traveler, looking for a new adventure and a way to make a positive impact in a developing country. I had heard that Mondulkiri was the largest and most sparsely populated province in Cambodia, with stunning natural beauty and rich cultural diversity. I was intrigued by the opportunity to live in a remote and peaceful place, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

How I Found Happiness And Purpose By Focusing On My Family And Community
I have always loved traveling. Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of seeing the world, exploring different places, meeting new people, and learning new things. How I Learned From Damaging Friendships
Moving to a new country is not easy. It can be exciting, challenging, rewarding, but also lonely and stressful. You have to adapt to a different culture, language, lifestyle, and environment. You have to leave behind your familiar surroundings, your family, your friends, and your comfort zone.

The Pros And Cons Of Living Off The Grid
When I was younger, I always dreamed of living off the grid, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the pollution, the noise, and the stress. I wanted to be closer to nature, to live simply and sustainably, and to be independent from the unreliable and expensive electricity grid. That's why I decided to move (a portion of every year) to a remote jungle area in Cambodia, where I built my own off the grid home, installed solar panels, dug a well, planted numerous vegetable gardens and bought a small handful of farm animals.

Embracing The Unkown
I have always been entranced by the enigmatic, such as: the enigmas of the cosmos, the enigmatic depths of the human psyche, and the awe-inspiring marvels of the natural world. I have always yearned to venture forth and unearth novel discoveries, to push the boundaries of my own existence and glean wisdom from my exploits. I have always harbored the belief that the unknown is not a thing to be feared, but rather a realm to be embraced and explored.

Living Below The Poverty Line
I always thought that living beneath the poverty line is an occurrence that befalls others, so I decided to dive-in to poverty myself (as an experiment). The belief that poverty arises from ill fortune, bad choices, or a lack of skills is part of what drives poverty. Once someone falls into poverty and descends into destitution, the difficulty of freeing oneself from its clutches, is almost seemingly insurmountable. I resolved to directly experience poverty in the Kingdom of Wonder, the country of Cambodia.
