I had never heard of them until I found out from an Icon for Hire stream where they told fans about an "upcoming collab," being with Citizen Soldier. As soon as I saw that it was on Spotify, I listened to it over and over... And over because of the lyrics.

As Misty had gotten older and material items have become of less value to her she started to declutter all the boxes where she’d kept unnecessary bric-a-brac. There were documents, old love letters, trinkets, seashells, bus passes and brochures from trips she’d randomly collected in Europe, playbills from London in the 70’s and many other obscure items that no longer held her interest. She had been recommended a fantastic book to read on minimalizing and had also seen a wonderful documentary on decluttering which inspired her to apply these methods into her own life. She decided it was time to make the difference.

Well, your Snacktime Sonatas made us hungry, and that’s about the highest compliment we have. Food — taste, smell, sensation — is a powerful conduit to the past, to memories pleasurable and painful and sometimes bittersweet, a mixture of comfort and challenge. Congratulations to Penny Fuller for Sativa — it’s a first win for Penny — a hymn to the “secret, unbounded/freedoms” of fresh peas in the pod. The narrative voice of the poem doesn’t really want to be outside, but finds joy in the green things of the earth; this is a lovely work of resilience.

Invitation to Renga With Me. Top Story - April 2024.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am returned. I am envisaging a grand entrance here, a footman perhaps, announcing my arrival, or a both doors flung wide attention grab. That I actually slipped in quietly with an itsy bitsy haiku seems far more in keeping with my actual style. Either way, I am back after an absence of a couple of weeks in which I dedicated myself fully to a family holiday. I could do no different, it has been a very full trip, and a wonderful trip for it. But though I read most of a novel, I took no time to read on Vocal, and no time to write either.
