A Smile Before the Darkness

Caring

Ever experience that feeling when

calamity stills, if just for a moment?

Love shines, glowing in her eyes, as

ideas form with a smile, as clear as the spoken words

perched on the edge of advancing dementia.

Seemingly now, all is bright and beautiful. All is calm. But then,

enveloping darkness; and not just for a moment. Forever.
