Dear Patience
Dear Patience, Where did you go? I looked for you earlier, but you were gone away. You were here on Thursday when we were watching the game and she kept forgetting that our team scored. You were right by my side when she cheered again and offered yet another high-five, which you happily accepted.
Cathy holmesPublished about a year ago in PoetsOn Steak and Purple Prose
It was after we ordered our steaks - medium-rare as that was the most done way one could order a ribeye at a place as opulent as the Blueblood without incurring mockery - that I suggested that the old Russians had it right when they brought Anna Karenina and the Karamazovs to life, to which my dear friend Ernie cried, “are you mad?”
Loryne AndaweyPublished about a year ago in FictionThe Gender-Delineated "Ad Age"
We have established that AI chat tools are a helpful place to begin, but not end, casual research into a topic. Asking ChatGPT for an overview on magazine advertisements in the 1970s revealed a path of questioning about gender roles in mass media. While the written responses did not provide nuance around gender identity and nonbinary readers, it did provide a place to start on this research inquiry. It will be difficult to contine with the resources offered, however, because ChatGPT provided either dead-end links or links to irrelevant articles for further reading.
Kiss me, Kill me
hey self-esteem, my perpetual albatross, (i'd say dear but we both know that isn't true) - when do you think i will be enough?

Breaking the News
The news of today is absurd, When fact and opinions are blurred, You know it’s the worst, When profit is first, And truth comes in second or third.

The ‘watching-eye effect’, also called the Hawthorne effect, is a powerful tool that you’ve likely seen in action without even realizing it. This principle is widely used in public spaces and you can harness it's impact on your own life... right down to protecting your lunch from the slippery lunch thief.

Note: I wrote this as a comment on the limerick below, and I was told that maybe I should post this on my page. I would recommend reading the link first and then looking at my five brief lines of thought:

“Melo look! This one looks like a dolphin jumping out of a sea of clouds!” Meloetta (Mellow-ettah) gave her Grandma the side eye. She crossed her arms even tighter and turned to face her Dad, who was sleeping in the aisle seat.

"Daddy, I'm broken." A phone call at two in the morning, and those words crying out in the dark are the reason I am on this flight. I went to find my daughter, my little girl.
Write A Perfect Body Paragraph Every Time
If an essay were considered in terms of a sandwich, the top and bottom pieces of bread would be the introduction and conclusion. The actual contents of the sandwich—meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and et cetera—would be the body paragraphs. Just like you would not want your sandwich filled with cheap meat, imitation cheese, floppy lettuce and flavorless tomatoes, a teacher does not want paragraphs lacking in substance.

Trigger Alert: this is a story about death & loss, specifically the death of our son in a car accident all but ten years ago, told from his point of view. The events are real, though his thoughts are obviously fictional. I’ve written it mostly in hopes of finding some catharsis & share it with you as part of that quest. But if such things make you squeamish, & especially if you knew our son, please don’t read any further. Those who have become a part of this community of loss would sincerely wish that no one else need come to understand what we’re going through, not even so much as to read a story.
Randy Wayne Jellison-KnockPublished about a year ago in HorrorThe Humble Chicken Nugget
You are the hot dog of poultry, a breaded mystery meat concoction of dubious origins. Go ahead and keep your secrets, you crunchy little minx! I respect your modified food starch and mechanically separated je ne sais quoi. I honor your likeability and versatility. You are convenient and cheap and available everywhere. You are slowly killing us all, but I’m powerless to resist you.

As usual, Bradly led the way while I followed behind with my head hung. My eyes echoed my mood and scraped along the scuffed shop floor. I did not want to be here. This posh clothing store served old ladies, not a fashionable 19-year-old woman. But he’d insisted. He always insisted. Always got his way. After a couple of years in the relationship, I’d learnt the hard way to just give him what he wanted. Safer that way, and a lot less hassle. No point in being the slow horse, who needed to feel the bite of the whip before obeying. No, much wiser to gauge his mood and comply as quickly as possible.
Harmony KentPublished about a year ago in HumansAI Since Omni: From the Cray-1 in 1976 to GPT-3 in 2020
What happens when you ask AI to write its own history? An article titled "Monster Machines: Artificial Intelligence" by Michael Edelhart in Omni, August 1983 provides inspiration for just this prompt. Edelhart writes about the supercomputers built by Seymour Cray, an important milestone on the road to the current juggernaut status of AI. While ChatGPT allows us to learn more about its own development in a way that extends beyond the boundaries of different companies in the space, its writing style still stands in sharp contrast to that of a human, such as Edelhart.
UP IN THE AIR
Flying, flying, flying! Of course, I knew how this flight began. It started a day ago. Eight-year-old Carrie with strawberry-blonde hair was my friend and companion. She was sent to visit her grandmother in Panama City, Florida for a week. When traveling, Carrie always placed me in her backpack. Naturally, we did a lot of traveling together.
