Positive Psychology
Gratitude is defined by its ability to create a sense of wonder, thankfulness and a general appreciation for life. So it makes sense that feeling happier, more energetic, helpful and more empathetic after practicing gratitude. Highly gracious people experience positive impacts within social relationships and the ability to cope in stressful situations. I am particularly interested in the correlation between gratitude and sleep. Disrupted sleep is a major predictor in neuroticism as well as informs its treatment. Considering the fact that gratitude is positively related to sleep quality, duration and daytime functioning, it may also be useful within interventions or even helpful hints for those seeking treatment. For example, if a client is going through a particularly stressful time and they complain about not being able to sleep or is feeling unrested throughout the day one suggestion may be to practice gratitude.

Motivational Principles
To understand and apply motivational principles related to extrinsic and intrinsic styles, I will be creating a hypothetical situation involving myself as the leader of a local volunteer group, and two possible volunteers. The first volunteer “Sarah”, is a third year art student whose goal is to teach art to children. She expressed her excitement in wanting to bring more creativity, playfulness and joy into her students’ lives. She has some time off and is considering how to get work experience in her field but doesn’t know where to start. From this information, one can determine that Sarah values art in the development of human lives. In this way, she would be intrinsically motivated to do participate in an activity promoting these interests and values. The second volunteer “Adam”, has recently decided to take a year off from college in order to find out what he wants to do. He is living at home so he wants to spend his extra time exploring different avenues of interest as well as avoid feeling that he’s wasting time. He expressed interest in medical professions as well as holds a high moral value in those who help people in need. Adam has somewhat external motivations and a somewhat introjected regulatory level in reference to volunteering.

Change
Change. What is change? This is a question I have asked myself so many times before. What is change, what does change mean to me? As I look around the world, I see so many different things, different people, different places, and different circumstances. I see a world, a place in complete and total chaos. Nations in distress. Homes turn into rubble. Lands turned into war zones. We hear time and time again, "together we can change the world." but can we really change the world and if we could where do we start? How do you change a world who rages and fight over their many differences? How do you change a system that's been put in place, to keep the inhabitants of the nation in which they live, oppressed and controlled? How do you change a world where society says it's not ok to be different from others? How do you change a world where a person is judge by the color of their skin or the background of their nationality rather than being judge by the character of their heart? How do you change a world where people try to think for you as if your not smart enough to think for yourself? How do you change a world where a person is not just oppressed in their community but they also have to face cruel judgement at home also? How do you change a world where people think how much money you save is more important than the money you spend to feed a person who is hungry? How do we change our world, to be honest I'm not sure if we can change the entire world but I think I know where we start. We don't start with our communities, not even our own homes. We start with our own hearts. The way I see it is every person, every man, woman, boy, and girl is individually made which means we all get a chance to say who we are going to be to ourselves, our families, our communities, and even the impact we each will have on the world. For example racism will not change because the government put laws in place against racism and discrimination; racism starts in the heart of man. If a person hates someone because of skin tone or nationality that is considered racism but that can change if a racist person chooses to get know a person for who they are rather than judging based off of skin tone or nationality, because we are all different even if we come from the same national background. Change comes when a mother chooses to embrace her daughter's love for sports rather than ballet or a father embraces his son's love for ballet rather than sports. Change starts within. Change you, change your home, change your community, change the world.

Another timeline
The house so full of people, feeling the walls closing in and remembering a time not so long ago, the laughter of children as they ran in & out. Screams from the yard as they jump high on the tramp. The sun shining down through the trees, leaving shadows of leaves across their sweet cheeks.

This Uber Driver changed my perception
I was sitting tight in line for a ride at the air terminal. At the point when a Uber taxi pulled up, the primary thing I saw was that the man was cleaned to a splendid sparkle. Sprucely wearing a shirt, dark tie, and newly squeezed dark pants. The Uber taxi driver leapt out and adjusted the vehicle to open the back traveler entryway for me.

IS IT WORTH YOUR CAREER?
No one wants to work until they’re old and no one wants to be stuck in a career they do not like. Some people can will make the gamble; others are not interested in risking it all. It seems fear or doubt can be the partaker in these bearings and also deciding if it is worth the risk. Some people have jobs that come with retirement benefits, making it difficult to leave.

Motivation
By definition, motivation is the reasoning for doing something. We are motivated to work because of bills or to maintain a particular lifestyle. We are motivated to eat because we need food to function and live. We are motivated to move from spot A to spot B because something compels us to. I'd like to call those, everyday implied motivation acts of reasoning.
