Day 6
I found I'm incapable of getting out of bed before 10 AM half of the week. Last night, for example, I was up with my son until 2 AM. I had my alarm set to go off with the intentions of getting up at 7 AM.

My friend recommended me to a gym and I was given the opportunity to try the gym for free, for seven days, no strings attached. At first, we laughed it off. She just needed names to sign people up, and we both knew I'd never actually end up going. I'm just not the gym sort.

Ever go to the park as a kid and play on the merry go round? I did. I also remember pushing the limits of the merry go round. Other kids would help push it faster and faster. How fast could it go, we wondered.

For good reason, many people are ditching the pavement for the pool when it comes to their overall health. Swimming is known to increase your muscle tone, cardio capabilities, and bone strength. Non-competitive swimming is one of the best fitness activities you can do year-round.

So the next four days are done and gone. I am feeling very sore now. Because of my decision to weigh in only once a month, I won't know if the muscular pain and physical fatigue is paying off until February third, but here's to hoping! Here is what I did from the fifth to the ninth (today). I am sharing the URL for the live videos I did on Facebook. I don't know if you will be able to click the link, or even view the video if we are not friends, but I thought it might be nice to try anyway, so here we go...

Meet Biostrap: The Wearable That Helps Measure Your Sleep, Recovery, and Performance
As you can probably imagine, training athletes is serious business, and you don't have to be a sports enthusiast to realize that. The sports greats of yesteryear would be totally unremarkable today, and so would the gear that they used to max out their stats.

A few years ago I did a daily challenge to change the way I think about myself. I had the worst self esteem imaginable and I had to find a way to change that. My counselor was trying to help but I just didn't believe what he was saying. So, starting January 1 of the new year, I challenged myself to come up with one thing I like about myself, every day, for 365 days. It was definitely a challenge, but on Dec. 31, I made my final post (I was keeping track on documenting my challenge on Facebook). At the end of that year, I felt so much healthier and happier with myself! I had little to no bad thoughts about myself and felt so proud for it!!
Michelle FrankPublished 5 years ago in LongevityHow to Start Going to the Gym
What to Expect You will get sore. When you suddenly start to lift weights or run miles, your muscles will get sore because it is suddenly working hard. This is a good thing. When you workout, your muscles will start to form very small tears that will regenerate and make your muscles bigger and stronger. Soreness will take around four days to completely heal. You can still workout at this time but you should take it lightly.
Michael DuongPublished 5 years ago in LongevityMental Health Benefits of Exercise
Our brains are physical organs. Just like our lungs, heart, bones, and muscles benefit from regular physical activity, research confirms exercise triggers a flood of chemicals that affect positive changes in the brain. Medical research studies indicate that persons who do not participate in regular exercise have an increased likelihood of experiencing chronic depression, memory loss, social apathy, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Have you ever been sitting on the couch, rifling a bag of jalapeno-flavored, kettle-cooked potato chips into your mouth, while binge-watching the hilarious hijinks of Michael Scott? Let’s be honest, we have all been there. And that is okay. However, once the screen goes black for a few moments, you catch a glimpse of yourself in the dark reflection and you think, “Man, I need to start working out again.” Again, it happens to the best of us. Starting (or even restarting) a training regimen is one of the hardest things you can do. Especially to someone who is inexperienced or does not have the extensive knowledge of individuals in the industry. So how does one begin?
