    The Last Chair & Hip-Hop

    The Last Chair & Hip-Hop

When going to the barber we seem to avoid the last chair for those that don’t know the last chair is; the last chair is always the worst barber either learning to cut hair, starting off in the hair cutting game, or just simply too old to cut hair and this is there only source of income (even though they would tell you once upon a fade they were the best in the game and I don’t mean this with any disrespect at some point pops you’ll need to hang up the clippers). For many years everyone seems to wonder why we’ve avoided the last chair and why hair seems to be a major conversation starter for most men and the entertainment industry. Well you shall finally get your answer and we hope it makes you happy from your fresh fade all the way up to that slick high top taking back to the house party days with Kid ‘n Play. We do admit some of you maybe young to not know who Kid ‘n Play are but this image should help as a reference just in case you may feel lost or unaware of whom the hip-hop duo are.

7 Things I learned when I shaved my head

I have been a proudly buzzed woman for about two years now, and shaving my head single handedly changed my life for the better. As a woman in our current social media and celebrity obsessed climate we are taught to care for our hair like a new baby, treating it to every super expensive hair mask, shampoo, and colour treatment going. Getting rid of all that showed me the woman that I was, and it made me feel fierce.

Treating Adult Acne Without an Elaborate Skincare Routine

Puberty is a nightmare for so many reasons, not least of which is the acne that inevitably comes with it. We all look forward to the day when our acne finally disappears, but what if it comes back in adulthood? Or worse, what if it never leaves? Some studies show that over 40 percent of men and women between the ages of 20 and 40 suffer from persistent acne.

    Rock Your Crown

    Rock Your Crown

African American women have always taken pride in their crown, which is our hair. According to the website Hype Hair, which promotes the latest hair trends for women of color, states that black women "spend nearly nine times more than our non-Black counterparts on ethnic hair and beauty products. Add in $473 million in total hair care, $127 million grooming aids and $465 million in skin care preparations, and we spend a whopping $1.1 billion on beauty annually." Other beauty brands are taking notice and are creating products specifically for women of color. The hot comb created by Annie Malone and later improved my Madame CJ Walker, African America's first self-made millionaire, is a staple in women of color's homes for centuries and decades. The hot comb is equivalent to a man's shave kit. It's one of the many stages that reflect womanhood. It's a comb that lays flat on top of the stove, and it heats up and combs through your hair to straighten. It was the go-to product before the flatiron existed.

    Top 5 Cruelty-Free Facial Cleansers

    Top 5 Cruelty-Free Facial Cleansers

I struggle so much with finding products that work best for and on my skin. I have combination skin, which means that I have both dry and oily skin. Not only do I have dry and oily skin, but I’m also very prone to acne and I get blackheads all the time. I have to find the right balance between hydrating my dry skin and trying to tame my oily skin, it’s not easy. Just last week I tried a face mask that said it was good for all skin types and it burned my skin; redness and it ripped off some of my skin. It was so sad, and I had some scabs around my eyes and cheeks because of it. Finding products that work and constantly changing up the routine is hard and annoying but once you find some products that work and your skin loves, there is no going back. Not all these products are going to work for you, but if your skin is as sensitive as mine, then I would recommend trying some of these products.

    My face

    My face

Hello ladies! Ive got advice and tips that I’ve used for years. I’ve read lots of articles and seen many posts and magazines so I feel like I have a pretty great beauty regimen. I have tested many things on my face from natural products and natural diys. Not ready or don’t think I’ll ever be ready to do any surgery or needles near my face. I try to eat healthy and stay active I feel that kind of helps. I love taking vitamins, recent started taking New Chapter women’s vitamins. I haven’t noticed a lot of major changes. I do feel a little less drowsy and sleepy. I’m sure you’ve heard of coconut oil and all it’s benefits for your skin! I love using it to remove my water proof masquera it leaves my skin feeling soft and gentle on my eyes. Because no one wants fine lines and wrinkles am I right? Ladies. It’s great along with coffee grounds to use as a body scrub or on your face. I like to make my drip coffee and right after use the coffee grounds with coconut oil mixed together and the. Rub it on my hands. Or save some of the left over coffee grounds and coconut oil for when I get in the shower to rub all over my face and body exfoliater. I’ve purchased the peppermint coffee grounds from target before that were meant for your body to elimate stretch marks. It left my skin feeling really soft and even lighten some dark spots I had. I’ve added it with baking soda when I want to use it as a scrub on my face. Recently I heard baking soda is harsh for your face so I prefer to use it once a week or once a month. Haven’t researched a lot but I have or I usually do when it comes to adding internally or externally new products or ingredients to my body. Warm water on a towel against your skin is the best feeling ever! I read it somewhere said by a model it’s like a spa. It really does feel like your pampering yourself set daily and you get to save a lot of money instead of going to fancy spas! But do save or splurge if you can! I have been wanting to try professional facials! I will possibly do that maybe as a once a month treat! Another GREAT product I love to use for my face is oil! Well not just any oil Vitamin e oil is one of my favorites to moisturize my face as well as argan oil! I like using Josie maran products for argan oil. When I discovered it I felt like I had found a holy grail product! Like how is this even possible to have your skin feel this good! Use spf ladies prevent skin damage!! I try to buy makeup with spf just Incase I don’t apply any. I like using face masks once a week. Sephora, drugstores , and Ulta carry some pretty good ones! Another favorite for under eyes are patches and I heard putting them in the fridge give even better results I have yet to test out but will do in the future!Lush is one of my favorite natural stores! I’ve tried a little of everything except maybe their bath products. Highly recommend LUSH make sure to visit a store near you or their only website! The ordinary 10 minute exfoliating facial has been leaving my face looking good it’s a recent product I’ve added to my skin regimen. Another new product I’ve been loving is evanhealy the skin breathes balancing face care kit! I’ve noticed my face is less dry and smooth looking! I look my age or even younger. People say I look a lot younger than I really am I usually get 5 years younger or the youngest is 10 years! My skin care to thank. If you’d like to know more advice let me know and please tip help a girl out.

Skin & Makeup Tips for Ladies Over 60

Skin & Makeup Tips for Ladies Over 60

As a teenager I never had acne. My sister did, and disgustedly sighed stating that I had skin like a china doll, but it didn't take me long to take care of that, however, and that is why at age sixty seven I am dealing with age spots that make me look like a spotted dalmation, wrinkles beyond my years, and sagging skin.
