    I Shaved My Head...

    I Shaved My Head...

When I think of hair I think connection, a bond, or a memory. Hair for some people is one of the most important things on them and everything they do leads back to the hair. Hair is something that in our day and age defines beauty, age, uniqueness and many different aspects of our appearance. My hair personally has always been an age defining factor. The shorter I would cut my hair the younger I would look and the longer my hair would grower the older I began to look. Now, some people may think this is nice but when you are physically short and all you have to rely on to make you look older is you hair it can cause a lot of unneeded pressure.

5 Weird Beauty Hacks I Learnt From Models

5 Weird Beauty Hacks I Learnt From Models

I started using make-up relatively late, at least compared to my friends in school. When I was younger I believed there was no need for make-up because natural beauty is abundant on its own. That was until I hit puberty and acne forced me to change my mind.

My Review of the Briogeo Banana and Coconut Superfood Shampoo and Conditioner

My Review of the Briogeo Banana and Coconut Superfood Shampoo and Conditioner

When it comes to hair care, I didn't really care too much about the products I was buying or what I was putting into my hair. I have frizzy, combination hair (curly and straight but more on the curly side) and never liked it growing up. I used to buy products that were two in one (like shampoos and conditioners), heavily scented and that have a bunch of chemicals in them that I couldn't pronounce. Now, I am making more conscious purchases when it comes to my hair.

4 Things You Should Definitely Have If Your Skin Is Dry

4 Things You Should Definitely Have If Your Skin Is Dry

When I was younger, a long, long time ago. My skin was really oily. Not just on my face, but all over my whole body (apart from my feet.) It was pretty gross. I spent so much money on oil papers I actually ended up using grease-proof paper because it was cheaper. But now, as an ancient 35-year-old shadow of my former self, my skin is dry.If I don’t take care of it properly, it gets flaky, itchy and annoying. And after sending hundreds of pounds on expensive creams. Lotions that claim to moisturise your skin for 48 hours, etc. I have now realised that there are only 4 things needed to keep dry skin in check.

    A Case for Drugstore Beauty

    A Case for Drugstore Beauty

As a Sephora employee, I hear a lot of unpopular makeup opinions. I also get the luxury of trying every new product that rolls its way onto the black tile. But before I was a Sephora doll, I was a CVS drugstore beauty die-hard, and after you swatch enough liquid lipsticks and shimmer shadows, you start to wonder what that $20 price difference really boils down to. Is buying drug store makeup bad for you or your skin? Does using drugstore brands make you "bad" at makeup?

    Becoming My Project

    Becoming My Project

Hey everybody, I just wanted to share a moment I had the other day, over something that as a teen / child I hated, and as an adult just embraced and enjoyed so much. It’s funny how something like this works, a situation that you hate and only learn to appreciate as an adult because you have the ability to much more easily.... maybe it's just me... we'll see!

    Skincare Series

    Skincare Series

I’ve seen a meme going around lately that jokes about perfect skin being wasted on children and MAN is that the truth! It seems like every day there is a new skin condition that pops up in attempt to strike down our dreams of clear, youthful skin. I like to consider myself a bit of a human guinea pig, so I’ve tried my fair share of skincare products, treatments, etc. in attempt to get perfect skin as well as go after any issue I’m having on my face at the time. My main concerns are typically breakouts, oiliness and then I’m a huge proponent of anti-aging at any age so being preventative on that front is my jam.

7 Things I learned when I shaved my head

7 Things I learned when I shaved my head

I have been a proudly buzzed woman for about two years now, and shaving my head single handedly changed my life for the better. As a woman in our current social media and celebrity obsessed climate we are taught to care for our hair like a new baby, treating it to every super expensive hair mask, shampoo, and colour treatment going. Getting rid of all that showed me the woman that I was, and it made me feel fierce.

How Dysport Anti-Wrinkle Injection Treats Skin Wrinkles?

How Dysport Anti-Wrinkle Injection Treats Skin Wrinkles?

Some people love the idea of having wrinkles on their skin. While some people will do anything to have a skin without wrinkles. But what exactly are they? Wrinkles are like fold on the skin. Wrinkles occur when the skin becomes saggy. Below the skin lies a muscle layer that contains all muscles of facial expressions. These muscles lie in between the bone and the skin that are on the top and bottom respectively. At our young age, the skin is thick and elastic, but with aging, the skin becomes thin. That’s why old people have very wrinkled skin.

How did Dubai emerge as a Global Destination for Cosmetic Procedures?

How did Dubai emerge as a Global Destination for Cosmetic Procedures?

Dubai has always been a global city, right from its humble historical beginnings. The city of gold has been a strategic and important commercial trading center for a very long time. Today it is renowned all over the world for being one of the most preferred destinations for a luxurious and affluent lifestyle. The sheer number of expats living in Dubai is proof that this has been able to emerge as a truly global city. Interesting to note is that the number of expats living in Dubai outnumbers the locals. In the past couple of decades Dubai has emerged as a global destination for cosmetic procedures. According to reports, it was found that Cosmetic Surgery in Dubai is the 5th most revenue-generating field of medical tourism. UAE as a country aims to host around 1.3 million medical tourists per year starting from 2021. That is among the 18 million people that visit the Emirate every year.

Make-Up Might Make You Less Attractive

Make-Up Might Make You Less Attractive

Wow, what a statement right? To be absolutely clear, I am not saying women that wear make-up are unattractive, I simply find those who don’t more attractive. Through the duration of this collection of pixels that make up words that make up some (hopefully) decent content, I hope to share with you the thoughts of an alternative, unpopular, strange but most importantly, forward thinking mind. It may be a struggle at times but I implore you to bare with me whilst I do my best to walk you through how the stomach of a 26 year old man can be churned by the mere appearance of a Love Island contestant.

Animal Cruelty in the Makeup Community

Animals all over the world are being abused and tortured through animal testing of cosmetic products. Many places like the United States require new ingredients to be tested on animals before being released to the public, and China requires all makeup sold in the country to be tested on animals. But this behavior is not acceptable. There are thousands of already approved ingredients for companies to choose from for places like the United States, and if all makeup companies refuse to sell in China, they too could wake up to the reality of their cruel laws and save thousands of animals lives.

How to Get Rid of Whiteheads and Blackheads Fast

How to Get Rid of Whiteheads and Blackheads Fast

Whiteheads are a similar form of acne as blackheads and the difference is that in whiteheads the skin pore is so microscopic or small that the air cannot oxidize the dead skin cells which form into blackheads and remain under the skin as whiteheads. Acne is a skin condition that affects 85% of teenagers and subsidizes by the time a person grows to the age of 20 years. There are many types of acne which range from zits to cystic acne. Blackheads and whiteheads are the two most common types of acne. Acne occurs when the sebum oil which is produced naturally gets clogged with dead skin cells and do not reach the skin surface. In normal circumstances the oil is excreted onto the skin and through the hair and that is why our faces tend to shine with this thin oil film. It is when the oil production increases and the dead cells do not reach the skin surface and get sloughed off that acne occurs.

4 Mascaras for Long and Voluminous Lashes

True or false: Mascara has been around since 3400 B.C. The answer is true! Egyptian men and women wore eyeliner and mascara made out of natural resources and applied it with ivory found in bones. This ancient beauty technique was used to protect the eyes — also known as windows to the soul — from evil spirits and bad juju. No wonder why this makeup product has been a staple ever since.
