I ˂3 The Eighties
So you’re telling me I can only listen to one decade of music when I’ve grown up on 90's and 2000s pop music, my nana’s love for Elvis and my own music taste that varies from AC/DC to Nicki Minaj?? Well damn, the answer is pretty obvious to me.
Leigh HooperPublished 4 years ago in BeatMusical Digest: Taylor Swift "folklore"
Alright. I have a confession. While I’m notoriously known for frequenting night clubs, jamming to house music, going to underground raves and fully immersing myself in the electronic dance music scene, I have a soft spot for other genres as well.

Vocal Curation TeamPublished 4 years ago in BeatI can only wake up everyday listening to Jake Gyllenhaal now.
I feel invited into this memory, dream or alternate reality with Quentin. As I roll out of bed, I switch on the speaker and Jake’s song wakes me up. I stare out the window come rain, wind or shine and wonder where Grace is. Maybe I should learn the piece and play it on the keyboard. If you want to sing with me I’d feel lucky. I feel invited into this memory, dream or alternate reality with Quentin. I want to sing along in his room and forget about things. Just goof around, open the curtains and close them quickly in case Grace sees and I can be happy in the ambience.
Peter MasonPublished 4 years ago in BeatAn Upbeat Playlist for Downbeat Times
Hello, and welcome back to Silver Linings, and, man, the world needs some right now. Let's face it. 2020 is turning out to be one of the most downbeat, depressing years in our lifetimes. With political upheaval (especially in the U.S.), a global pandemic, and race riots, I'm not surprised that people are trying desperately to escape the madness any way they can with methods from drinking to social isolation.

Siân RochePublished 4 years ago in BeatBTS wants you to 'Stay Gold'
I’ve realized at this point in my life that BTS’s music will rarely disappoint me. Recently, BTS released a Japanese single, “Stay Gold”. I had high expectations for this one going in. Though BTS is a South Korean group, their Japanese originals are some of my favorite songs they’ve done. “Don’t Leave Me”, “Let Go”, and my personal favorite “Crystal Snow” are incredible tracks. Seeing that BTS has done another Japanese song feels like a treat during the stressful times we’re in right now.
"Dixie Chicks" change their name to "Chicks"
"The Dixie Chicks" announced on Thursday June 25, tht they have changed their name to "Chicks." Like the former Lady Antebellum, the country trio no longer desire to be associated with a pre-Civil War south where black people were enslaved. For many people, the word Dixie simply indicates the south. Since the murders of Ahmaud Aubrey and George Floyd, an increasing number of Amerians are rethinking things that they have been doing for years. There will no doubt be a backlash from fans because old habits die hard. NASCAR received a lot of hate when they decided to remove all Confederate flags and Christian singer Natalie Grant said she and her spouse lost over 1,000 social media followers because they spoke out against racial injustice.
Cheryl E PrestonPublished 4 years ago in BeatTara Beier
Singer-songwriter Tara Beier is a name that will soon be synonymous with invoking feelings of positivity and inspiration through her music. Her folk/blues/psychedelic rock sound is a mashup of some of her musical influences growing up such as Fleetwood Mac and Joni Mitchell with a twist all her own. Beier is also an accomplished actress and filmmaker. Tara helped create a documentary entitled I Met a Man from Burma, which helped release a refugee into Canada for citizenship and also played singer-songwriter, Buffy Sainte-Marie in Covered, which rekindled a passion for music that was within her from a young age.
Carlos LacayoPublished 4 years ago in BeatHow to Take Care of Your Vinyl Collection
Whether you're just starting out as a record collector or you already have a collection of your own, you should make sure you're taking proper care of your vinyl. Records are valuable, not only because they contain the music you love, but also because their appeal has made a comeback in recent years which gives them a certain vintage and eclectic edge compared to their more modern competitors like CDs and devices. It is very important to handle, store, and clean records properly in order to keep them in good shape for a long time.
