Magic items in Dungeons and Dragons are meant as magical rewards for adventuring and exploring your campaign. Every D&D campaign is full of great loot placed by your DM, but if you ever have a pile of gold burning a hole in your pocket and are looking for somewhere to put it all, here are some suggestions!

Whether you are a player looking for the best items for your character, or a DM who is looking to tailor the loot in your campaign to the classes your party is playing, here is the perfect list for magical items for Clerics in Dungeons and Dragons 5e that every bard is gonna want to attune to!

Amulet of the Devout

This wondrous item recently released in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything is quite literally the best item for clerics for its level. Having this amulet increases the spell attack bonus and saving throw DC of your spells, and within 5e’s take on bounded accuracy, these increases are far and away the best thing you can have. It may not be flashy, but this amulet is the most powerful item by rarity of any items that a cleric can attune to. In addition, it also allows you an extra use of your Channel Divinity each dawn, not each long rest, which makes it even more invaluable and flexible in the hands of the prepared Cleric.

Staff of Healing

I mean, this one is a no brainer! Of course, not every Cleric is the healer in the party, but, between a Cleric’s mid tier hit points, and high armor class, they are more than likely to be one of the last one’s standing in most conflicts. Having this staff in the hands of a cleric means it’s more likely your party will survive whatever conflict is thrown your way. With spells like Mass Cure Wounds, Lesser Restoration and Cure Wounds within, this is a good all around staff for healing your allies.

Wand of the War Mage

Hey! Like I said not every Cleric is a healer! This wand increases the attack bonus of your spells and can be handy in the hands of every Guiding Bolt, Inflict Wounds slapping Cleric who isn’t rolling so hot lately. In addition, the wand allows ranged spell attacks to ignore some cover, which is handy if you find yourself in the back lines and your targets keep moving in and out of their hidey holes.

Guardian Emblem:

Another new item from the depths of Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, the Guardian Emblem is a magic item that attaches to a suit of armor or a shield. When you or a creature within 30 feet suffers a critical hit you can expend one of three charges to turn that hit into a normal hit. What’s the need of a Grave Cleric when you can have this baby nearby! More than that, no one wants their cleric going down because of a stray critical, so this armor addition can be an excellent way to stay proactive against the TPK your DM is rolling towards you!

Ring of Spell Storing

This nice little ring does pretty much exactly what it sounds like...it stores extra spells. Very handy when you have limited spell slots. Depending on what you want to use it for, this could be used for anything from making sure you have a revivify tucked away, to preparing one more kickass Thunderwave for when the cards fall to the floor. Either way, no caster ever didn’t benefit from an extra spell slot in trying times.

Staff of Thunder and Lightning

We all know who this is for... (looking at you Tempest Cleric). Your Tempest Cleric ever not broken enough? Ever feel like even though you can deal out crap tons of lightning damage that you’re just not quite the embodiment of the storm that you were hoping for? Enter the Staff of Thunder and Lightning. This staff will give you access to five different abilities and a bit of a damage booster, only trade off is that it’s a Very Rare item and you’ll have to convince your DM to let you have it! May the dice be in your favor!
