Jason looked closely at the receipt. He remembered the bar and a vision of "The Skewered Apple" came in his mind's eye. When was this? October 31st. Hallowe'en. Fancy dress? Yes! He remembered going. Him and a bunch of people from work. Was Jo there? Yes, she was. Dressed as...it didn't matter. He needed to think of the girl, Ella.
He picked up his phone again, bringing up the picture. Ella watched. She had noticed the purpose to his movements. That's it, she thought. Try and remember.
Jason looked hard at the photo of the girl. She was attractive. He felt certain that he would remember her. Light hair, not blonde. Elfin features. Bright green eyes. He searched his memory for the face, staring at the picture, willing an epiphany.
Nothing.
But something had been jogged. He scanned his brain and entered his memory of Hallowe'en.
It was loud. A thumping beat, not cheesy Hallowe'en tunes but music in the minor key, dark tunes, melancholy, brooding to make your skin prickle. Nick Cave. Kasabian. Portishead. He remembered the atmosphere of the night being something close to sinister, sultry. He was glad he was dressed as a pirate and not a giant hot dog, like Abel, the accountant, who left early, embarrassed. Most patrons were dressed in traditional creep wear - zombies, mummies, vampires, werewolves. There were characters from Batman; modern gothic.
He had a lot to drink. Tequila. He remembered going to the bar and being served by Catwoman. Had they flirted? He recalled some hissing and her hand coming at him, claws out.
He encountered others: a disgruntled Riddler as his drink was spilled; treading on the stray end of a mummy and jolting him; sitting on a dismembered hand left by a zombie prankster. He laughed a lot. Merry.
There was some dancing. Bodies packed tightly. Jo had hooked up with some creep who didn't smile all night. He just watched and whispered in Jo's ear. She had been so drunk. Bleary. But she'd had a taxi home. Alone.
Did he dance with Catwoman? He remembered closeness, smoky haze. A hand on his neck. Bright green eyes. A kiss.
He remembered! How could he have forgotten?

Ah, but what has he remembered? Was it more than the kiss? What happens next?
Different perspective this time or do we stay with Jason?
And is Jason going to have time to remember before the Master catches up with him?
Will the Master catch up with him?
So many questions! Suggestions please!

Yes, stick with Jason. Let him figure it out. I think the master will have to find him eventually. This is a great series. I just caught up, so I didn't bother leaving a comment on each one since they were already written.
Nah, stick with Jase! Let’s see what he remembers! This is fab Rachel.
Definitely want to stick with Jason or a quick pivot to Ella and then back to Jason! Or maybe as a conduit their perspectives start to mingle?
I feel sure the Master must meet Jason, even if Jason doesnt know it.
Nah! I want Ella to tell us more! 😉 Also… Jason had better have time to remember before the Master catches up with him!😳… bring on the next episode 🥳
I agree with Dharrsheena! You had me at kiss! More please!
Second Dharrsheena on this one! Stay with Jason! Well-wrought!
