Why I Won't Go Back To Using Drugstore Shampoo After Using This Detergent-Free Hair Product
You know, the kind that you routinely have to coax into submission with the help of a curler or an extra durable hair band. Throughout my life, I’ve had all the haircuts you can think of: a shoulder-length chop with side-swept bangs, a layered chin-length bob and laidback, flowy waves. I’ve tried most products: hair spray, leave-in conditioner, leave-in everything. But really, years of experience have taught me to just stick with what I know best: a choreography of shampoo and conditioner. Rinse and repeat.
Mariam MakatsariaPublished 3 years ago in Blush 6 Must Try Korean Skincare Products
Korean beauty has experienced a surge of popularity in the past 10 years (arguably ever since BB creams became popular). I became interested in Korean skin care after finding out about it through several korean actresses social media. Many Korean skin care products, like Nooni's Marshmallow Whip Maker, have become popular through tiktok trends due to their cute design or innovative function. I am a long-time k-beauty connoisseur – I even worked in South Korea for two years – and I seek out products that don’t irritate my skin and that make my skin care routine feel luxurious. Here are my top six skin care picks and where to find them.
Inina KachelmeierPublished 3 years ago in BlushBrilliant, Bold, and Unapologetically Beautiful
We as humans all seek validation from other humans (whether we want to admit it or not), and feeling beautiful is one of those things that's hard to accomplish without it. One of my favorite quotes from actress Emma Stone is "I can't think of any better representation of beauty than someone who is unafraid to be herself." So in that spirit, I want to highlight a fearless, innovative black woman who has taken the beauty world by storm: Melissa R. Butler, founder and CEO of The Lip Bar.
Monique WillPublished 3 years ago in BlushAn artist in her own right
Pat McGrath – Make-up Artist, Artist, Genius I had no idea who Pat McGrath was, all I knew was I needed a new mascara. That might not sound like much of a challenge, but for some reason all mascaras simply slide off my lashes so that by mid-afternoon I look like Alice Cooper or the missing member of Kiss. For those that know, the mascara that works for me is ‘tubular’ and my previous favourite came from Trish McEvoy.
Little black girls want “good hair”
“I want to be a white woman when I grow up ‘cause they’ve got long straight hair…,” from the lips of a 5-year-old African American female.

Tammy ReesePublished 3 years ago in BlushA TikTok Trend You Don't Have to Fake
We've all made heroic attempts to hide the signs of aging. And in the age of the influencer, beauty brands have benefited. Helping to drive the growth of beauty products to a $532 billion industry.
Katie BrozenPublished 3 years ago in BlushThe Big Chop
I used to see long hair as the ultimate symbol of beauty, and I thought that if I grew my hair as long as I could then it meant I was beautiful. I know now that isn't true, that beauty takes on many forms and comes from within, but when I was younger, I felt insecure without long hair.
Kayla HilleniusPublished 3 years ago in BlushMy 2020 Favorite Product List
Last year, I created a comprehensive, exhaustive list of all my favorite products of the decade. I know, sick and twisted. Well, clearly I have a lot of thoughts about things, and against my better judgement I'm doing it again this year.
Lillie SuperstarPublished 3 years ago in Blush5 Lush Dupes That Don't Suck
We all know my thoughts on Lush. Suffice to say, I'm not a huge fan. But I'm well aware that boycotting a brand can be hard, especially a company like Lush which sorta fills the vegan self care niche. Let's be real though, we live in a time where there is just a boatload of cosmetic product being released almost daily. There's no excuse to shop Lush. Come on now.
Lillie SuperstarPublished 3 years ago in BlushHow to Make Face Masks
Why do we use face masks? Seems like an odd question, but you would be surprised how often I get this question. It's 10-15 minutes of self care, time you take specifically for yourself - but it's also a way to deliver condensed ingredients to the skin.
