Don't Panic! It's Just Life.
I wonder who decided on the tones that emanate from the medical equipment in hospital rooms? One particular eerie melody disrupts my spirit, leaving me on edge. "Do-deedo-dodo. Do-deedo-dodo." I'm certain it was playing when I was comatose-- a forgotten memory only to emerge when my ear catches that robotic song.

Finally Home, Again
The first home address deposited in my memory bank was in Spanish. Its meaning was something like the trees on the hill, West Verda Des Los Arboles. Although, there were no trees and no hills-- that I can recall. I vividly recollect the dust, the cacti and the desert. Marriage or Medicaid?
Surviving a double lung transplant after being diagnosed with a rare lung-attacking autoimmune disease, I couldn’t see beyond the moment. I was grateful to be alive thanks to the advancements in medical technology and the superior health care I received. Diagnosed with polymyositis, a rare autoimmune disease, I have become vulnerable to the world around me. So, I decided to do some research on available COVID vaccines to potentially protect myself from damaging my transplanted organs. What I discovered wasn't very promising for someone like me.

Visions an American Restaurant with a Bit of Soul
Food is more than sustenance for me. Some people eat to live, I live to eat, love to eat, eat to eat. The foodie in me loves tasting new things. During this pandemic, eating has become even more of my favorite pastime than pre Coronavirus. Although as an immunosuppressed person, I cannot safely venture out to my typical eateries, I still find ways to get my grub on by ordering To-Go at my local favorite restaurants.

My First Date in Two Years
Before the world was shaken up by this global pandemic, my personal world was already disrupted. Having been seriously ill and fighting for my next breath, I quickly grew to appreciate each new moment and each person sharing it with me. I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that ravaged my muscles. This disease I had never heard of before, had a vendetta against my lungs. And it wasn’t going to stop attacking until my lungs stopped functioning.
