What to do when your dream fails?
We all have dreams for our lives. We all have dreams and hopes. We all have a dream of what we would like our lives to be like. Dreams and goals are important to keep you moving forward. Working towards something can be a great motivator to improve your life. Sometimes we even get close to a dream.

My 5:30 am routine for success
Last year, not working, I got into a routine that wasn't that productive for my life. However, at the same time I wasn't doing anything, and so I could wake up whenever to get things done. I would still wake up early. I've always been an early riser naturally. However, I got into a bad habit of scrolling on my phone right away. So I would find myself scrolling for so long right after I would wake up. It's not a good habit to get into. It's also not very productive, and sets up your day to not be very productive.

Dealing with depression and anxiety when you are alone
When you live alone and you are single, you most likely spend a lot of time on your own. After the pandemic, more and more people work from home. That can be a great thing in many ways. However, you also might find that you go long periods of time without talking to anyone. Or maybe you just go periods of the time without having any real conversation with anyone. If you are dealing with anxiety and/or depression, then it can be really hard to get through it when you are alone all the time. For me, it's a struggle at times to not let myself go deeper and deeper down in the hole.

The effects of sugar of your body.
2021 was a tough year for me. I wasn't working for most of it the year. Not having a exact schedule to follow really messed with my mind, body, and eating habits. Towards the end of the year, I didn't feel the best. It wasn't that I was eating a lot or gained a bunch of weight or anything. It was just that what I was eating wasn't the healthiest. My eating had gone off the rails. I was eating a lot of processed foods and a lot of sugar. I felt like my body could use a reset. So I decided to do 3 days of no sugar, processed foods or processed carbs. I debated doing no carbs, but I don't think carbs are bad. I just wanted to eat as clean as I could.

Learning to do your own nails
Before I had my daughter, I would get my nails done all the time. I always have had issues getting my nails to grow. So I would get fake nails a lot. For me, it just made me feel good about myself no matter what was going on. Clothes and shoes might not fit, but nails always would. However, after having my daughter, I just stopped doing it. Being a single parent, I just never had the time or money to do it. Unless I was working, my daughter was always with me. And in general, I was just focused on other things in my life. However, it was something that I missed. Shopping for clothes or shoes, is not always a good experience for me. But getting my nails done always worked. It's just a great way of self-care, that makes you feel good. No matter what else is going on. And I knew that I missed that feeling and wanted it again.

Making your dream life into your reality
I'm sure that at one point or another in your life, you wished that things could be different. I'm sure you have sat there and said, I wish I could do that, as you watch other people really live their life. You watch other people achieve great things, and have these amazing lives, and think to yourself that you wish you could be like them. But why can't you? What's really holding you back? The only thing that is different between you and that other person, is that they went out and made their dreams a reality. When you are just sitting there watching other people make it a reality.

One year, lessons learned for better or worse
2021 was a rough year for me, if I'm being honest. The pandemic hit me hard, even though it was delayed. When the pandemic first happened in 2020, it wasn't that hard for me. But my lessons were delayed. By 2021, like most people, I was over it and tired. The isolation that I felt finally hit me, and I felt more alone than ever in 2021. People would say that I had my daughter, so I wasn't alone. But there is a difference between the company of a 5-year-old and the company of adults. In 2021, I feel like I lost contact with a lot of people. And it really shut me down. As we end 2021 I am looking back at a tough year, to learn the lessons that I need to learn. And looking forward to a new year, with a positive attitude, clear space and open heart.

My journey to get better rest
If you find yourself struggling through the day, you may want to look at your sleep pattern first. When we feel like we are struggling, I wonder why it is that we look at everything else other than our sleep. When in reality our sleep is the biggest factor to our overall mood. We always want a quick fix. So we try every short term fix we can think of. Caffeine, pills, little mood boosters, every fix that people will tell us will make things better.

Why it's okay to be just where you are.
As we go into a new year, it is normal to see a lot of people trying to motivate you. People making new goals for their life, trying to push you to be better. It's the time of year, after all, right? Everyone in the world will suddenly have new motivation to try to reach their goals. Motivation that for most of the time will be over come March.
