Why to Write
Writing can be an escape from reality but is not confined to just that. Writing can also be a tool to better understand reality. Writing helps communicate to others more clearly and can even be a way to better understand yourself. Writing also helps us learn from our experiences. Writing is an incredibly powerful instrument and can: explain, teach, amplify your voice, and even persuade people.

Society Makes Female Body Types a Fashion Statement
The "ideal" female body is constantly changing, motivating women to try and conform to each new era's accepted body type. Looking back over American history and the women that history glorified, it's clear to see the body type that was in style during that time period. Sadly, the majority of these body types are unattainable for most people. Society picks and chooses certain female body parts that get to become a fad that is here one day and gone the next.

Biggest Fitness Myths
With a rise of influencers on many social media platforms in the area of fitness, there is now more access than ever to workout training advice. Even though it can be an amazing thing to have so many sources to follow, it is important to remember that not all the influencers that are promoting fitness are qualified to teach or have even done their research to find out if what they are teaching is scientifically true.

I am Anorexia
ED trigger warning...read with caution. This is only to show how an eating disorder like anorexia consumes one's mind. Let me introduce myself, I am anorexia. I slowly began to make myself known. Want to start a diet? You'll have to know the numbers. You let me know you bit by bit until we are attached at the hip. I become you until you no longer are yourself. Your family and friends won't recognize you. Very soon you will no longer recognize yourself as you slowly disappear in black and white.

A Personality Test Hater takes the Enneagram
Personality tests have always rubbed me the wrong way. For some reason the idea that someone could possibly have me figured out and put me into a category really irritates me. Even though I typically don't like personality tests, I know that they can be taken just for fun and it can be a great way to help you get to know yourself better. I've heard a lot of great things about the Enneagram Personality test and decided to take it. The results were shockingly and annoyingly very true for me.

Maintaining a clean home
While I sometimes like doing organizational projects around the house, I HATE the daily cleaning. Chores like doing dishes and folding laundry drive me crazy. I have learned that what's worse than chores is letting them build up and then having to take hours to catch up just to get the home looking semi-nice again. I've put together a couple of tips for maintaining a clean home so that you can make your home a no stress zone to relax.

The Cycle of Poverty
Modern Western societies, such as The United States, put a huge stress on the idea that the mix of working hard and natural talent will lead to achieving any goal...sometimes even bragging that that is something our society allows. While that is a beautiful idea, the divide between social classes only continue to rise, making it harder and harder to reach the top. Social class shapes how one views themselves and how they view other people. So how then can one's socioeconomic status keep them stuck in a cycle of poverty? Could it be that a mind shift change is what it takes to pull someone stuck in a poverty cycle out and into a brighter future?

Spend time with yourself
Most people feel the need to go out all the time, and feel unaccomplished and even like their day was a failure if they do not work hard at something. Even though we may feel like taking some time to ourselves is a waste of time, and maybe in the short term pushing yourself towards your goals will provide faster results, in the long term we will tire ourselves out. Even 5 minutes a day all alone with yourself can decrease stress and increase your clarity to act more rationally and make better decision that keep you true to who you say you are.

Multiple Personalities???
The person we project for others to see is based off of who we believe we are and who the culture we are immersed in says we are. It's no secret that the cultures we live in influence our behavior but so does language. When a person who speaks two or more languages navigates life, it's very possible that their personality can change, making their identity completely different.

Home Between Worlds
A TCK, or third culture kid is described as a child who spent a big portion of their developmental years in a culture other than their parents' culture. While there are many benefits of growing and learning in another culture, there are some unique challenges. A common theme in the life of TCKs is the feeling of being out of place and not knowing which country to call home. Many times a TCKs life is celebrated as privileged and very real mental health issues are not addressed or not taken seriously.
