I Put Contests Together For Poetry/Rhyme And Give Prizes Once A Year.
February is Black history month. And like American Indian history, most people in the United States know very little about Black history. I met people from Russia that had to learn about America before they could enter the United States to live.

A Poem A Day In February Contest
I worked with the young man who wrote the poem above. He died and left a wife and a young son. His son turned six this month. His wife placed the above photo on a post on Facebook and I thought it would be a great prompt for a contest. I asked friends to use the poem to inspire them.

Cardiology on Tuesday, Primary, and Lab on Wednesday, and Oncology on Thursday
A person can get tired just thinking about this week. A friend asked if I wanted to get together this evening for an hour or so and I felt sick at the time. I wanted to go to bed. I didn’t but that is what I had in mind.

In 1492, When Visitors Sailed The Ocean Blue
When looking out the window I could see this painting hanging on the wall. It was an older model sailboat. Not one that crossed the ocean to get to the America's but still a similar vessel on a smaller scale.

Some Prompts Are So Difficult.
First, I wish to say that this prompt was horrendous for me to complete. Taking me days, well maybe a week or more! And I could not finish it! And worse yet, I can’t remember where the prompt comes from! So, I will publish it on my own. And just not worry about it.

It Was Almost Warm Today. We Got The Upper 30s This Afternoon.
Now, don’t get me wrong, there is snow on the ground here. We won’t be riding anytime soon. We have taken a trip on rented bikes at this time of year before. We are not doing that this year though.

Taxes Are Not Fun To Do
The hubby and I went to see our tax people. We are eligible for yearly tax prep through the AARP foundation tax-aide professionals. Each year we make an appointment, gather our paperwork and go in on the date we signed up for.

Day Five Of A Poem A Day In February
It is day five today! Only twenty-three more days to go. The countdown has begun! I don't think about it until I am out there writing alone. Then it occurs to me that maybe others won't join in. Then it happens, another writer, that is better than I am.

I Was Hoping I Would Never Have To Get Covid
I was exposed to a friend that tested positive just hours after I caught a ride with her. She was getting over a cold, she said. When I asked people how soon I should test positive, I was told 3 days, then 5, then 7 days. I didn't test positive with that advice.

I Never Thought I Would Hear So Much Within The Walls Of My Home
If walls could talk is what I was reminded of the very first time I heard this faint noise coming from my wall. I was sitting in my recliner reading when I could hear this faint whisper. "You are not safe here."

In The Winter In My Home State, Rain Means Ice!
A January weekly prompt by reciprocal about rain: I fell a few years ago and I am not happy about the freezing rain right now. I will attempt a prompt that was introduced for the last week of January on Reciprocal. I am one of the first to say and believe that water is life!
