We all know that our day-to-day life is seldom really predictable. Conflicts between ourselves and a vast number of kinds of people that can occur can end up shattering us. Yet, some people seem incredibly at ease with themselves and the chaos they create around them and within them. Others seem not to get it together at all, and again, others are shifting around between a stable appearance and a crumbling mask.

Why is that?

Resilience is the ability to withstand and adapt to challenges, setbacks, and difficult situations. It is a critical trait that helps us navigate life's ups and downs with grace and strength. Developing resilience is key to living a fulfilling life, and there are many ways to cultivate it, including practicing Chinese medicine, Taiji, and Qi Gong.

The idea behind this concept is simple: when faced with stressors, we must be resilient enough to overcome those obstacles to grow from them. This means being strong enough to move forward even if you don't feel like doing so. As a result, you may experience some emotional pain, but eventually, you will emerge stronger than before because you dared to face adversity head-on instead of avoiding it altogether.

While resilience is commonly spoken of regarding the body, mind, or spirit, it can also apply to various situations in life. This may mean being resilient towards work, money, family, health, etc. Every day, we must overcome difficulties and setbacks that arise in life. And although it isn't always easy to overcome them, resilient people constantly strive to do so. Resilient individuals learn to cope with life's little disappointments with grace instead of being paralysed. This leads to better, happier relationships with family and friends.

Like the many other skills the human body can learn, we can train ourselves to be more resilient through healthy lifestyle practices, such as doing Qi Gong and Nei Gong exercises.

Chinese medicine has been used for thousands of years to promote health and resilience. It emphasizes the importance of balance and harmony within the body, mind, and spirit. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe that many illnesses and diseases arise from imbalances within the body, which can be corrected through various treatments, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and dietary changes.

Tai Chi is a slow-moving form of Chinese exercise which involves breathing techniques and a gentle moving routine, performed while the person maintains an upright body stance with a quiet mind and centred attention on the movements themselves and what is occurring within themselves.

Qigong involves mind-body cultivation that goes through the gentle and soft exercises. These practices help balance and clear one's ch'i energy to help move past life challenges that we cannot escape through hard work or adversity, and move onto a happier stage with better things awaiting us.
