My Cancerous Experience With A Spiritual Healer

Five years ago, I was 23 years old and experienced a series of strange symptoms. I saw several specialists who ran tests and scans, which showed nothing. They assumed I was stressed and needed more rest.

I felt like a madwoman and hypochondriac for several months because I couldn’t prove I had an illness but knew I was sick. Even after my physical symptoms disappeared, my body was spiritually telling me I had a disease. No one believed me.

I would stay awake with a knot in my stomach every night. I didn’t know how to remove this strange and unfamiliar feeling from my body. I remember praying and asking my God what was wrong with me.

One of my doctors recommended therapy or meditation to calm my nerves. I decided to attend a free meditation class with a spiritual healer for the first time. I have always been a spiritual individual and wanted to experience a new spiritual activity.

My spiritual session

I signed up for this meditation class with a spiritual healer on a website for local events. I wasn’t expecting anything extraordinary in the class; I just needed a way to relax my body.

The class was in a small room with ten people, and everyone had to sit on a chair. Each chair had a small piece of paper with questions about the participant’s feelings and goals.

I remember describing my anxious emotions on my paper; I expressed how lost I felt but didn’t know how to describe this uncertainty. After we wrote down our answers, the healer walked in and instructed us to close our eyes. I overheard the healer walking and softly speaking to the participant next to me.

The confirmation

When it was my turn, the healer whispered a greeting and picked up my paper. I opened my eyes and watched the healer read my answers. I sensed his compassion as he digested my words.

Then, he asked me to close my eyes and meditate; I prayed to Jesus as I meditated. A few seconds later, I felt a strong and electric sensation in my body and wind blowing through my hair. I assumed there was a strong fan or an open window nearby but I didn’t see a fan or window after I opened my eyes. I was confused and intrigued at the same time.

I looked up at the healer who was crying.

He said, “I can tell you’re going through a lot and I can feel it. You need to know that your feelings are valid and you will find answers to your questions.”

This moment confirmed there was something wrong with my body, and I decided to push for more answers about my health.

The next day, I scheduled an appointment with a different doctor who ordered blood tests. A couple of weeks after my blood draw, I did not receive any updates about my results. In the past, when I didn’t receive any calls from the doctor, it meant everything was normal. However, I decided to proactively call and follow up with the doctor about my results. I had a strong feeling there was an issue even if I didn’t have any symptoms.

I’m glad I did because the doctor’s assistant told me to come into the office right away. The doctor instructed me to see a blood specialist or hematologist as soon as possible. He said my blood counts were dangerously low but he didn’t know the cause since he was just a primary care physician.

The following week, I had an appointment with a hematologist who became my current oncologist. He was extremely concerned and conducted my first biopsy. This biopsy changed my life forever; I became a young cancer patient and survivor. I’ve learned to trust my gut instincts after this experience.
