On the road again
My daughter asked me not to pick her up from school tonight at the dinner table. Which is odd, given shes a daddys girl. Then she explained that it was because she was embarrassed that some of the kids always said, "heres your fat dad" when I came ti pick her up. Shes 5.
Basic to Bikini: 28 weeks out - habits + routine
I’ve got a lot of feels at this point. You know when you have so many thoughts that your brain just kind of goes silent? That’s where I’m at. There is a lot going on right now, not just for me, but for everyone – you know, that pesky virus and all. But I’m determined to stick to my prep as best as I can, although my Coles is making that a tad difficult with the obvious lack of chicken breast, beef mince and turkey mince on the shelves. Ah hello, I have macros to meet..

Wowee – what a week! I’m not naïve enough to believe this prep was going to come without challenges; I knew life would throw some stuff at me because that’s what it does, I didn’t expect it to come so quickly though. I’ve said it a thousand times, and I’ll say it until the end of time, with whatever you are doing, you have to know your ‘why’.

I, like many, am a walking contradiction. I hate garlic but love garlic bread. I hate onions but love pickled onions. I’m incredibly easy-going but need to know all the details before I make a decision. I’m laid back but also a bit of a perfectionist.

How a Simple Dietary Change Resulted in Weight Loss and How I Did It
I went from active and eating well in high school to inactive and eating like a slob in college. I didn't think my weight would change so easily but it did. I would work out and eat healthier snacks but nothing changed, my weight kept growing. It wasn't until recently that I found my trigger. Sodas. It didn't dawn on me how much soda I drank in college. I was spending money on cherry cola and sprite from the campus machines like clockwork. I continued to drink sodas regularly after I walked away from college and my weight continued to climb. I felt sluggish and my mental health took a drastic nosedive. I'd go from not eating much to binging and it was at that moment that I realized how close I was to developing an eating disorder so I knew I had to make a change. I started with sodas and cut them out drastically with the exception of Sprite when I'm sick. Here's how I began my journey to being healthy.

Chelsea SwiftPublished 4 years ago in Longevity 5 Tips for Maintaining Your Summer Body Over Winter
Winter is almost here, and you know how we don’t tend to take too much care of our looks during the colder months of the year. We usually eat more, drink lots of hot chocolate, go to the gym less... Maybe because it’s not warm outside and it is just perfect for resting in our bedroom, tucked in in our favorite fuzzy blanket, binge-watching all the good shows we can find. But doing all this also means we are not doing anything to keep fit, and we can regret it later when our body is not prepared for the summer. So, to later not feel bad about your appearance, let’s see how you can maintain your summer body over winter!

A few years back my husband and I went on a hike to a local waterfall. Our oldest son got the two trails mixed up so he and two of our grandchildren ended up on the easy trail, and my husband and I along with the other grandchild went up the rough trail. We climbed straight up the mountain, scaling narrow ledges that overlooked a 20-foot drop into the water.

Kari OakleyPublished 5 years ago in Longevity6 Stretching Exercises to Relieve Lower Back Pain
There is a tendency to protect and rest the lower back when grumbling aches and pains start to occur, and you may have experienced this yourself. When it comes to healing and stretching, it’s about tuning into the body. By listening to the body, there is less likelihood of further injury and stretching and sending blood flow to the injured area can help boost the healing process.
