'She's Gotta Have It' (*Spoiler Alert*)
Talk about turning the tables! Nola Darling, the main character in Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It, gives us self-determined feministic "I make my own rules" vibes. This Netflix addition is based on the movie version Lee had directed in 1986 (which I didn't watch). Fast forward 31 years later, this storyline has resurfaced with a modern twist. There is so much to talk about, but I'm going to focus on Nola in relation to her three lovers, Brooklyn as a person, and the culture of art.
Dorcas MarfoPublished 6 years ago in GeeksBest Stand-Up Comedy Specials Streaming on Netflix
Stand-up is the purest of art forms, as there is absolutely nothing between audience and artist—it's all pure reaction. You laugh, or you don't. You get the joke, or you're offended—it's that simple. If you're a real stand-up nerd, than you should really be taking advantage of the hidden gems on Netflix.

Superhero movies are now mainstream - and Deadpool has always mocked the mainstream! With the Marvel Cinematic Universe still the biggest game in town, and the fledgling DC Extended Universe struggling to course-correct after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the time was ripe for the Merc With A Mouth to chip in. After all, hasn't this year also seen the phenomenally successful Deadpool film? So fans were waiting expectantly for Deadpool to make his voice heard, but we never expected him to team up with Spider-Man to do it!
Dave Chappelle Pays Tribute to Charlie Murphy with Song at John Mayer's Concert
As the unfortunate reality of comedy legend Charlie Murphy's passing away due to leukemia continues to reverberate throughout the industry, more friends of Murphy are memorializing the great comedian in their own way. We've already seen many of them sending shout-outs via tweets or paying tribute in other ways. But the most touching tribute may have come from Murphy's long time friend #DaveChappelle with the help of John Mayer.
Is Dave Chappelle Filming a New Comedy Special In 2017?
Out of all the comedians to announce a comedy tour this year, it was quite a surprise to hear Dave Chappelle is preparing to go on tour once again. Chappelle has made appearances in small venue comedy clubs in the past few years but he hasn't made any featured appearances since his exit from Chappelle's Show back in 2003.
Dave Chappelle Revives Chappelle's Show in SNL Spoof of the Walking Dead
Last weekend's airing of #SaturdayNightLive is probably going to be one of the most talked about episodes of the year. The installment was already expected to be a smash hit, considering that #DaveChappelle was hosting. After 10 years away from television, Chappelle's SNL appearance marked an auspicious return.
What's the Best Movie or TV Parody of the year So Far?
Originally, parodies were solely meant to mock poor examples of entertainment, not good shows and movies. However, between Saturday Night Live, Funny or Die and original YouTube sketches, fans can now laugh at films and television series that carry a very serious tone. We're all watching some pretty somber entertainment, and we all love sharing funny clips with our friends, so parodies can gain massive notoriety in a very small span of time.
MadTV Parodies Game of Thrones and It's Everything We Want
MadTV recently returned to television with a new installment on The CW network. The series has been off the air for over 10 years, but looks to be taking off successfully with the new season's premiere. New cast have been recruited for the series, along with veteran cast members set to guest star on separate episodes, evidently providing a callback to the funnier skits produced on MadTV. More on the series' adaptation later. For now, we can take a look at some of the hilarious skits to already air on MadTV this past week.
Is 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' In The Midst Of A Robot Revolution?
Kimmy Schmidt is a cult survivor full of hope and optimism — she starts a new life in New York City and makes some quirky friends along the way. What she and her friends don't realize, however, is that their world is gradually being taken over by robots. Or, at least, this is the case according to a fan theory.

This past weekend I was finally able to sit down and watch 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.', and I have to say I couldn't have been happier with my movie selection. As I was watching, I started thinking about all the other spy films that I've seen over the years, specifically all the comedic films in the spy/secret agent genre, and I thought I'd put together a little list of some of the best, because maybe you're looking for a good spy comedy to fill your evening.
Matthew BaileyPublished 6 years ago in GeeksAren't We All Just a Little Minion at Heart?
In 1937, Walt Disney pioneered a path for animation to join the ever-growing collection of feature films to showcase in cinemas across the world. Since then there have been critical and commercial successes as well as those that have fallen flat and failed to meet expectations. Animation studios have come and gone, but if we limit our frame of reference to just the last 15 years we've seen some great films come from the titan studios like:
