When The Ocean Calls
The ocean has always fascinated you. A deep, beautiful well of untapped knowledge and potential. It's frustrating to you that humanity knows more about the stars than what lays beneath your feet, the very water that brought this land to life. You love all of the beautiful creatures in the sea, from the smallest sea star to the largest whale. You especially love whales. To see them up close, to hear their songs is a dream come true.

Tennessee Lobster
It's that time of the year again! We're grabbing our sunscreen and our fishing poles and heading back to our most favorite fishing spots. While you're pulling in those big ones to take home to the frying pan, why not grab a few Tennessee lobsters too!

It's Not What You Think
While most people look back on their most cringeworthy moments, they remember falling down in public or having food stuck in their teeth. Not me. My most disgracing and inglorious day was when I had to admit that I was being abused.

Possessed #087
Im a fifty-year-old sober, drug-free grandmother. My sanity has never been questioned; not to my face, anyway. My folks settled in the foothills of the beautiful mountains of Jellico Tennessee, and we have what might be described as a very country way of speaking. Ghosts, or haunts, are 'haints' to us.

My Restoom Horror Story
I'm a tall girl. Not an amazon ( I wish!) but a healthy 5'9.5". So when I go out, I like the handicapped toilet better than the regular toilets. I feel like I am sitting on a regular chair, rather than a child's seat. Much easier to get up afterwards. Now I know that this might be frowned upon by some, kinda like stealing a handicapped parking spot. I assure you that I never go into the handicapped stall unless the restroom is empty and I'm the only one in there. (it's still shameful, I know.)

The Old Jellico Highschool
This happened many years ago when I attended to old Jellico High School back in the 80's. Almost everyone that I knew believed that it was haunted. I'm not a big fan of the supernatural, I prefer to ignore things like that but sometimes when we see something with our own eyes and expirience it for ourselves, we just can't ignore it. I witnessed a few really creepy things during my 4 years there. I was actually happy to see them replace the old building because believe me, there was some weird stuff going on in there. Even some of the teachers would admit it. There was one janitor who said that he refused to be there alone after school because there was a ghost that walked the halls at night and lockers would slam by themselves. He also said that the toilets would flush at night when nobody was around.

Forevermore
His dark eyes locked onto me, gentle yet dark and alarming. I tried to resist but his gaze pulled me in. The drink in his hand, a medium-pink strawberry merlot. I imagined the taste on his lips. Fresh strawberries, tangy, acidity and crisp with a warm delicate finish.

Rocking The Table
When I was a child, we lived in a large, 2-story house on Indian Mountain, just above the park (the house is still there by the way). Every Friday my father would invite neighborhood families to the house for the evening. Mama would fix a huge dinner and then the adults would sit on the front porch talking while us kids ran around the yard playing hide-n-seek. Sometimes we'd all go inside and play a game.

History of Mothers Day
"There is nothing as cozy as the mother’s lap, no flower as beautiful as our mother’s smile, and no route as easy where the footsteps of our mother have been imprinted. Let us rejoice this mothering. Let us feel blessed and privileged for having such affectionate mothers in our lives who have sacrificed their own elations to make us smile. Let us just put an effort to make this day great and big for them."

A Bad Experience At The Jellico Cemetery
Back on October 15, 2019, my girlfriend thought it would be a good idea to take me to the Jellico Cemetery to see the graves of my great grandparents. I was never able to meet them in life and had always wanted to feel a connection to them.
