The Hearts of Calgary, Alberta
The Hearts of Calgary, Alberta To be honest, I can’t choose just one local restaurant, so I’ll do a couple dedications to a couple of my top favorites that have won my heart. From ones I had just found out about, to ones I have known my entire life, and all the delicious delicacy’s on the way.

Observatory
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. But I guarantee the screams are endless. She was always fond of the stars. I could tell by the way she would glance up at the night sky every time she would slip out of the car, or merely step out on the bar’s balcony for a cigarette. She’d stand there in silence, ignoring the chatter of the music, dark eyes gleaming with amusement; pondering the universe, the galaxies. Meandering in her own Lilliputian world of what ifs; and so, she would come back to reality with a visage of sadness, a diminutive frown of regret, as if she wished to be somewhere else, somewhere beyond the stars. She didn’t belong here.. and neither did I.

Dear Beautiful
Dear Beautiful, It is nearing six years of your death anniversary, come October. Anniversary.. more like the day my life fell apart. You still cross my mind everyday, and not a inch of time goes by where I don’t feel your presence. The little gift’s you leave me. The random glimmer of that dime ever so slightly hitting my peripherals to let me know you are near. It’s always at the best times too, like you know I needed you in that very moment. I know you miss me too, we are still equal you know.

Bi-son
When I lived on our farm we had all sorts of creatures running around. From litters of kittens, cats we saved from run down buildings; goslings whom were abandoned on the pond, to my beautiful bison, who's mother passed away while giving birth. I’ll never forget the call I received from my step-dad, “Would you like to come mother this baby buffalo?” I was living in the city at the time, so it was a big commitment to just drop everything and move back home. But, it was also the chance of a life time.

Plant Addict
There comes a time when you know when to stop. I have yet, to come across this time. Every second post, it seems there is an ad about plants. From the beautiful, fractals of nature we call succulents, to the fun loving, bushy tropical plants we all adore to spice up our homes; and every time I see these ad’s, it is like a magnet for my finger to click and scroll through all the colourful, living beauties. You’d think I’d be content with the jungle-like home I already endeavor, but no, it seems I always need the next plant on my list of “Plant Goals”. These ad’s do not help with my plant addiction.

Spring Mindfulness
Spring is a time for rejuvenation. I’ve always considered this time to be the “New Year,” of another year to be fulfilled. Its the season of birds coming home, animals waking up from hibernation, and humanity getting out of that unwanted winter funk. It’s the season of the first Zodiac, Aries, to be awoken for another month, and year of getting things done and organized. As an Aries myself, this is the time when I feel most focused and able to really get myself back on track. Especially in the year of 2021, I welcome it with open arms.

2037: Doomsday
Prologue The year was 2037, mass chaos spread across the world as epidemics wiped out the nations. Government’s took control by dominating the human population; natural disasters spread across the land drowning the coasts and burning what was left of the land. The death rate was 2:1, bodies dropped like flies as the world turned on all living things. Doomsday had begun.

Pioneer of the Zodiac
Fond of stars, I have always believed deeply in the Universe. For, this is the way, and thus has been for billions of years, and billions more to come. Of course, it’s not all about our Star sign that makes us who we are. We have all the planets controlling our thoughts and motives. Many people make fun, saying, “Astrology is just a false gimmick,” but don’t bother giving it the time of day, they don’t care to indulge in the truths of what their birth charts may hold, which I guarantee they would find more reality behind it, behind the expanse of the ever-knowing cosmos and the scientific value that the stars hold. Most nay-sayers don’t even know what a birth chart entails, they’d rather be ignorant to the facts or blame it on some “witch magic”. I wish they would open their minds to the possibilities, but I understand how it can be misleading, taunting,

Shambhala
I know a place where we can frolic like elves in an open field of wonders, where we can dance like the faeries in the warmth of our evening gowns when the heat turns to dew. I know a place where the woodland creatures come out to play in the midst of the night, and mermaids glisten in the rays of the day. Where giants roam the grounds on stilts, bees buzz in mystical gardens of colors, and butterflies flutter around the free-thinking spirits who lay napping under the Wishing Tree. I know a place where you can find hidden doors, that lead to abandoned, un-melodious pianos where the goblins perch by the "Poe-tree", dazzling with poems galore, and touched by the energy of all the joyful walker-by’s. I know a place where you're free to be yourself and be who you want to be, real or not, and no one could nor would bat an eye; a place so beyond this realm its hard to believe it’s existence is among this world. I know a place we can escape, a place we can all call home.
