My top 2 skincare ingredients
When it comes to skincare knowledge I haven't really got the best understanding of the various ingredients and products that are available. However, as I said in my last skincare post, Skincare Faves, my job does allow me to try out all sorts of different products (depending on when I'm in the office again). It has also helped me gain at least a little knowledge of how skincare products work by listening to my wonderful colleagues.

The View from the Hutch
Oh what a world we live in, where a mind like mine is trapped behind a cage of flimsy metal. Confined to a small space of hay and wood, where I’m subjected to daily pestering from my captors. No matter how much I stomp my feet they show no signs of fear, continuously picking me up and hugging me like a simple-minded fool. They laugh at my attempts to ward them off, undermining my war cries as something adorable.

The Day in the Life of Sooty the Cat
It was fairly safe to say that Sooty was a cat full of character. He spent his life defying the stereotype of a stubborn, hate-filled creature. Don't get me wrong, he was indeed a cat who often showed his disdain for myself and my family, yet he could never help himself from flouncing into our rooms demanding attention and love.

The Addams Family - Movie Review
When it comes to the Halloween season I'm not the best when it comes to watching the typical horror movies that hit our screens around this time. This year especially, with people virtually getting together to watch the spookiest movies around, I got two friends together to watch a more light-heart movie that still embraced the spooky and macabre, this took the form of the 90s cult classic, "The Addams Family".

Over The Moon: Netflix Original Movie Review
This was definitely one of my more random finds on Netflix this week. I had a very fulfilling weekend of rather intense and spine-chilling TV shows and movies, so I needed something more light-hearted to ease me back into the real world. That's when I came across "Over the Moon".

The Umbrella Acadamy: Season Two - TV Series Review
Here we are once again with an absolutely wonderful series of the six super-powered siblings. As it’s a second season I’m always fairly dubious as to how good it could be after the spectacular that was the first season. However, after seeing the trailer I was intrigued after seeing the 60s vibe that the show was going for. So, here is what I thought of season 2...

Emily in Paris - Netflix Show Review
Once again Netflix has blessed us with another trend-worthy original to sink our teeth into. Somehow I still haven't learned that I can't resist these sorts of TV shows. Time and time again I saw adverts for it before I eventually just conceded and binge-watched the series a couple of days ago. The trailer had already leveled my expectations to a certain degree, and lets just say that what I got was fairly standard for this sort of TV show.

Halloween costumes through the years
Oh, Halloween, such a bizarre time of year; where children sweep the streets in the hopes of getting sweets, while adults dress up as monsters and ghouls, or rather sexy monsters and ghouls. For me, it always seems to awaken something of a creative spark in me - sadly just not in the way that I would hope as a writer. Rather than bringing about some inspiring horror story or sinister psychological play - no, instead I opt for trying to create my own costumes. I have no idea why this comes about, I'm not even very good at it, actually, I'm just awful. So, here are some of my more noticeable memories of hideous and falling apart Halloween costumes...

Always Be Afraid of the Dark
"Good-night my sweet" Mum once said to me, "don't let the bed bugs bite". I watched her close the door, leaving me alone in the dark. At 10 years old I was finally experiencing life in my own "grown-up" room, no longer sharing with my younger brother. I would've been excited if it wasn't for the set of yellow eyes staring at me from the far corner. My mum burst in before they could get much closer, taking me in my arms as I finally stopped screaming.

A Good Breath of Fresh Air
Ah, lockdown a strange concept that people used to associate with something dramatic and intense in movies. For 2020 its become something a lot more real and has resulted in millions of people being confined to their homes for months on end. As its been 6 months of this, you're probably wondering why I'm relaying information you already know (well firstly there is a word count for submissions), but namely its context to what we're now going through in the UK; a weird amalgamation of lockdown but not lockdown.
