Period Care: Maybe You Shouldn't Put All Your Eggs In One Basket
Pads vs. Tampons vs. Menstrual cups vs. Period panties I've personally read, like, ten articles about these versus battles regarding the best choice for hygiene products during your menstrual cycle. My first product choice had been pads for the longest time. Back then, 12 years old and very put out about having to experience this "passage of womanhood" (bunch of bullshit then, certainly more so now), my arguments were more centered to which brand of pad worked better. Wings vs. no wings. Super heavy or regular. Yadda yadda- tampons are the DEVIL- yadda.

10 Lush Products That Belong On Your Wish List
Lush is a handmade cosmetics store that originated in Britain but has since expanded globally with more than 900 stores. There's been few brands that are as good for my skin, and comfort me as much, as Lush. And by few- I mean like, maybe, two other brands.

Kickass Adult Animation Films To Watch Based On Your Zodiac Sign
Hey, cartoons aren't just for kids! A lesson I first learned watching Adult Swim on late nights in the early 2000s, waaayyy before Tom (4.0? 5.0? God he just keeps dying) and Toonami had any sort of say in that. Nostalgia can come in another article though, I'm trying to jog your memories about some of the wacky, inventive animated movies that used to come on TV, and definitely were not for kids. Stuff like . . . Fritz the Cat, and Beavis and Butthead Do America.

A Brief Conversation on My Aromanticism
About four years ago I came to the realization that I was aromantic. It took me a while because, well, it's not a largely well known romantic orientation. The fact that there can even be orientations for romance related things is hardly well known!

Reading Romance Is Self-Care
I'm at a point in my life now where I want to believe in happiness again. There were a long few years where all that seemed to show upon my horizon was bleak, enduring toil and that eroded my mental health like waves upon the beach shore. But I'm older now, and though in a material sense things still seem stretched thin, my mind is starting to fight back for pieces of happiness. In fact, I'll selfishly and boldly proclaim that I want more than just pieces- I want the whole cake dish of happiness and I'm tired of settling for less. One of the ways I'm doing this is by renewing my relationship with reading again. And the number one genre that's helping me get back into that excited, voracious headspace for new literature?

Ranking the Encanto Soundtrack from Magnificent to Good!
Encanto is a wonderful film, and I cannot stop singing its songs, or quoting its most meme worthy lines. Full of heart, and family drama, and some points about generational trauma that almost hits the nails on the heads.

Rest Must Be An Act of Defiance. Top Story - January 2022.
I'm usually thinking of sleep as something I've got to schedule for, then plan two contingency plans for. 'If I have work at 12:30, I'll need to be out by 11:30, so if I wanna get some time to myself before work I should wake up by 9:30 but if I want to just sleep I'll need to wake up by 10:30- 10:45 at the latest . . .'

Soothing Youtube Channels for my Struggling Attention Span
This pandemic that has absolutely shredded my attention span. At one point in time, movies were my solace. I flipped through the catalog of Amazon Prime to enjoy a spontaneous flick, or skipped into Target/Walmart to pick a familiar and comforting $5-$10 movie. On Tuesdays I would happily run over to the Cinemark near my job for discounted movie tickets and make a whole night of it; a daquiri from Fat Tuesdays, sushi at a little metal table overlooking the ground floor walkway and entrances to several shops and restaurants, and a delicious donut I'd sneak in to the theatre to enjoy during the film. Movies were my excuse to be sociable, and present in life- to be surrounded by other likeminded people who were choosing this movie as a moment of leisure and engagement in the joys of life we are too busy toiling, to otherwise enjoy.

The Sweet Moments
Rhiannon carefully spoons portions of the plain greek yogurt into the bowl, the thick white cream then being mottled with chocolate cake mix. When it’s mixed to her liking, she reaches over and adds just a dollop of whipped cream- why, when she’s already got yogurt to substitute the eggs, she isn’t sure . . . but it was just a familiar motion and she decided it wouldn’t hurt a lick. She stirs carefully, humming under her breath to the record playing low on the other side of the wall that separates her kitchen and living room. Her hip leans against the wooden counter in front of the wide open window, ferns and a bursting flower box of daffodils nearly overtaking the small port window. The gentle breeze blows in the smells of her herb garden, her gardenias just below that skirt the porch, and the warning of a spring shower. At this time of day sunshine can pour in through the window, and when it hits the couple of suncatchers she has interspersed between her windchimes along the edge of the roof, rainbow refractions flash along the tawny skin of her arm like dancing fairies. Rhiannon gulps in the sweet air and inhales slowly, absorbing the bliss of the moment and mentally giving thanks for a good day.

The Withered Barn
Sunlight edges the top of the fluttering treeline, shafts of light punching through sporadically and highlighting the scene before her. The long dirt behind her was threatened on both sides by unruly brambles and too tall grass. The daisies and dandelions pushed through belligerently, unable to stand idly by as the world grew around them. Anita glanced down at her combat boots, the peeling patches just above the edge of her soles and at the tip of her toes, nearly hidden by the thick layer of dust creeping up the laces. With a sigh she settles her weight along the hood of the beat up truck she had earnestly kept from its well-deserved final rest in a junkyard.
