HHN 31: What's Hot & What's Not
As usual, my plan of going to HHN on a weekday was a success. I've completed all 10 houses and 1 show, as well as partaken in a few of the treats around the event. So, I figured I would make this a simple article about what felt right to me, and what felt off. If you're reading this and haven't gone yet, maybe this can be a good guide for you to determine what you're really interested in doing, should you face a time crunch on a busy night or something. So, let's start with . . .

Hell Of A Guy
These fucking amateurs, Eddie thought derisively, have no idea what they're doing. Eddie was in Hell. No, not Michigan. Hell, as in the biblical place of damnation and endless suffering. And sure, Eddie had known he was going to hell from the time he skinned his first linebacker at age 14- he had prepared himself for an eternity spent burning as he progressed from librarians to underpaid and misinformed museum tour guides . . . he had a pain kink, anyway. He was prepared for eternal torture that outstripped anything that he could do. But, Jesus Christ on a pogo stick he was not expecting this.

A Small, Happy Town
Some say that Estes Park, Colorado was one of the last pleasant places in the world. The crime was low- maybe a murder every five years, and a few troublemaking young fools that run away to the big city- happiness was high, and every person who lived there was at least charming and respectable, if not infectiously happy. Yes, indeed, Estes Park was the last of its kind- a true small town, charming, idyllic, and seemed just like those small town that painter Thomas Kinkaide likes to paint.

60 Days, 60 Movies: Countdown to Halloween- Part 1
We're 60 days (from September 1st) away from Halloween, and my excitement merely grows- like a fungus. Of course, one of the most common ways to get in the spirit of Spooky Season is to watch some movies that emulate the spirit of the season right? Horror, thriller, comedy- basically anything that can relate to a scary good time. Well, I've got a lot of them that I want to share with you . . . in the interest of not making this list too exhaustive to finish, we'll be separating it into parts! So here, are the first 20 films:

Beyond The Mainstream: Youtube - Part 2 Top Story - August 2022
Four years ago, I got pretty good numbers from a story about my non-Top 40 music tastes, in an article called Beyond The Mainstream, and you can click the link to read it if you'd like. But I figured that it's been years and my tastes have expanded, so what could be better than to make a sequel article to that one, and show off all the new and amazing music channels I've been loving for the past couple of years? We've got a lot here ranging from more synthwave to new favorites like hardwave and metal-electro!

My Top 15 Halloween Horror Nights Houses
1. The Cabin In The Woods (23) cabin but its a rubiks cube Halloween Horror Nights 23- you know you never forget your first time. That first lung full of fog from the machines . . . the funnel cakes . . . the screams . . . ahh, there's nothing quite like your first experience is there? There were a lot of great houses that year, and it was one of the years where pretty much everything was dedicated to the Walking Dead (seriously every scare zone was just walkers), but this house holds a special place in my heart. I'd never seen the movie before, but after going through this house I became obsessed with the ideas inside, and so got to watch the movie a few months afterwards. I adored passing by the "broken" cages and seeing the nightmares that lay within, and watching a unicorn skewer a man on the CCTV screens, blood splattered as they were. To this day it's one of my top five favorite horror movies.

The 10 Songs That Changed Me
Music is what we come into this world with. The beating of our hearts, the sighs and murmurs of those gifted to witness a new life come forth, the lullabies that grace our unchecked ears. A soft, yet chaotic rhythm that sets the tone for our interesting lifespans on this earth. Music is what we use as an enhancement to our lives- to set the tone, to brighten the mood, to feel like we're not alone. Music is one of the things that make life worth living . . . and music is sometimes what changes our lives. Millions have written poetry, songs, books, and movies about music and what it can do for a person.
