happiness
Happiness, defined; things that help you find happiness, keep it, and share it with others.
Alone
Being alone doesn't have to be a bad thing. Sometimes it can be quite peaceful. Sometimes it can be eye-opening and amazing. Being alone can ease the mind and bring you comfort. I didn't always look at being alone this way but then I realized that sometimes being alone is better.

Let’s Talk About Summer
It’s the middle of the summer and, regardless of your age, if you’re not working, taking summer classes, or going to summer camp (in case you’re 12 or younger), it can get very overwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, summer is great; you get to sleep in, rest, hang out, and do all the stuff you couldn’t do before because of either the weather or because you just didn’t have time.

The Dust of Our Bones: Pt. 1
It’s on his birthday that I see her: a small comma of a woman, providing a pause in the long run-on sentence of my life. There’s a way about her. A way that makes you feel like you’re good where you are; makes you feel like you’re not the odd-one-out you always thought you were.

Growing Pains
I think we’ve all been a little terrified of growing up too fast. There is a mindless beauty to ignorance. Not knowing everything, asking questions, endless curiosity, all of what drives us towards the unknown with no fear of getting hurt. I miss that. Not thinking twice or second-guessing, just...going. But to our dismay, regardless of if we want it or not, we all grow old, we all learn the hard way.

3 No Cost Ways to Reward Yourself
I have a recurring daydream. I get up at the first tone of an alarm clock, leap out of bed, and into a quick shower. I do my hair and makeup, have a little coffee and toast, then dash off to work. Something perfectly repetitive, like an assembly line, so I can work and think of stories at the same time. Then, when my job is over, I go back to my little home, sit on a chair I picked out myself (and paid for with my own money). Then I do whatever I want with my evening. To me, this would be a luxury. No one could question me, because when you make your own money, you're free.

Learning To Love Yourself
There are a lot of things in this world that are hard to swallow. Whether it be politics, natural disasters, or humanitarian issues we have a lot of bad around us. We also have an incredible amount of good that sometimes gets pushed to the side with the negative always weighing us down. One issue most people deal with on a daily basis is a lack of self-esteem. Even if you feel confident you still have those days where you don’t feel as pretty or as smart as you would like.

Earth: The Lost Community
I used to say that it's the world around me, but now I can't hide it anymore. It's me, all me. I remember being young, happy, carefree. Lost in the wonder of the world and people in it. I miss that feeling; you know the one. Wanderlust, awe, or should I say awestruck at the world around us. Even the smallest creation was amazing: a ladybug landing on your arm, how we would watch with amazement then giggle when it tippy toed across our skin. Then we would watch it fly away, and we would wave.

Keys to Happiness
I’m really trying to be happy these days and I realized that it’s not always simple. I’m working really hard and I’m starting to learn ways to be happier. Sometimes, you have to learn to enjoy little things and the present. Your life needs to be full of positivity, balance, and joy, and here are some keys to happiness. (I am not a psychologist or anything but these are keys I use in my life and they work for me and I hope they’ll work for you as well.)

Masking Happiness
We live in a world surrounded by people. We crave people's attention, their touch, even their words. Our dependence on having other people fill the void of what's missing inside of us has taken over. No longer do people fill comfortable enough to be on their own.

Stop and Smell the Roses
Nowadays, everyone is rushing from here to there, cell phones permanently attached to their hands, laptops and tablets not too far away, and everyone working and struggling to make the almighty dollar stretch as far as it can or in some cases, will go.
