It’s Okay to Move Back Home
I’m in Miami Bishhhhh! Rosé please! Pour yourself a double because there’s lots to discuss. I’m back home and gosh, so many mixed emotions are seeping through. One half of me kind of feels like some sort of loser who just couldn’t land that job in another state and move across country like so many of my counterparts in college. The other part of me is just ecstatic to be home and surrounded by the people who love me the most while being able to save up a few grand before making that big move. Because, yes. This move is indeed happening. Have you ever felt as conflicted with similar feelings as I am? Well, after being home for exactly a week now, I am here to tell you, have no fear; emotional and financial support is here.

Codependency
Back when I was trapped in my codependent friendships, I felt that I was doing way too much work, which is why I dumped the ex in the first place. An ex friend was busy relying on me (female), to meet all of her needs. I wasn’t getting much in return. I was all too willing to help her at first but then I realized just how very manipulative she was being towards me. This is why I dumped her as a friend. I was busy letting her continue her self-destructive behavior. I was raised in a dysfunctional and ill family, of course. This is why it went that far. I have massively low self-esteem I’m working on. I’m terrified of moving to Los Angeles and starting school, and being so overwhelmed by my feeling of inadequacy that I start drinking again. I feel guilty about feeling good because of my medication while my family doesn’t do medication at all.

Dear 25, Welcome!
Years ago, I dreamt about this particular birthday. I'm not sure why; however, I just knew it was one that I looked forward to. As I am now days away from it, I wanted to write myself a letter as a source of encouragement for the 365 days to follow. For those of you who have a milestone birthday approaching, it might be beneficial for you to adopt this practice as well. It might help you navigate through the trials you will inherently experience in your coming year.

The Deceptiveness of an Image
Its 9:00 AM, you wake up, and immediately reach for your phone, scrolling through your social media: your Facebook, your Snapchat or your Instagram, as you do. Scanning through your news feed, you’re reading posts from celebrities or models, pausing to peruse it, envying their extravagant lifestyle. You come across a picture of said celebrity: nicely dressed, well posed, and standing in the middle of a walkway, in Milan or Rome, or even Fashion Week in NYC. Or how about, when you see the same person next to their Maybach, and during that moment it’s as if someone took the perfect snap shot of that fleeting moment. While you’re sitting there on your bed and you think to yourself “Wow, why can’t that be me? Why can’t I have a picture perfect life where people will take random pictures of me in public?” Does this story sound familiar to you?

How I Manifested a New House
"If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hands." - Bob Proctor Where do I begin......... Earlier this year I was living in an apartment & barely selling enough cars to make enough commission to pay my rent and bills. I knew that my lease would be over in a few months & I knew that I wanted to move into a house with my fiancé and pets closer to work. Knowing that I can manifest anything I set my mind to, I decided to make a few changes in my life.

The Thin Line Between Exercising Safe Boundaries and Crossing Them
Hi, my name is Amanda and I'm not good at setting or keeping boundaries. I don't know how others feel about this topic, but I know that sometimes it's really hard for me to set my boundaries and keep them. This reflects in many aspects in my life. Personal boundaries, romantic boundaries, interpersonal boundaries with the different people in my life - it all reflects back to the fact that sometimes I share too much or say too much or do the wrong thing.

Carrot or Stick?
One of the great debates particularly when my kids were young, was whether you could or should use a carrot or a stick to encourage them to “do better”. I was always in the carrot camp, but my wife was always in the perfectionist (stick) camp. She felt that it was better to “say it as it is”, although there was always a discussion about what standard that had to meet and what “perfection” might be.

The Pressure to Develop Your Potential
It takes an amazing amount of pressure to make a diamond. The reason why we're going through something so hard is the outcome. Most of us want to get better. The journey that makes you the strongest is the path that is the hardest. It's not that surprising when you hear of overnight millionaires. I'm not sure why it is that sometimes we look down upon those in positions of power or success. Everybody has obstacles they need to overcome. The only difference is some people do not act responsible for their own outcomes. Now if we're talking young, fresh out of high school, there is still so much time left for them to develop. Try to take on the hardest tasks and be the best you can, this is the only way to get to a level where others admire you. There is nothing great about being small and simple.
