3 Tips To Lose 20 Pounds in 1 Month (Real Results from Experience)

Every mother has been through the longest journey of life, thrown into another one for 18 more years, talked crazy to, have had eyes rolled at them, and taken far more than this world should allow. All of this to turn around and have such high expectations placed upon us in aspects of life far beyond our control. One thing I’ve found that I can control (with a lot of grace and practice) is my weight.

Every mother has been through the longest journey of life, thrown into another one for 18 more years (actually an eternity lol) talked to crazy, have had one or more sets of eyes rolled at them, and taken far more than this world should allow. All of this to turn around and have such high expectations placed upon us in aspects of life far beyond our control. One thing I’ve found that I can control (with a lot of grace and practice) is my weight.

There has been a huge portion of my life (its entirety) that I have struggled with losing weight. I would be down 30 pounds and I’d gain it all back faster than I had lost it. It quite literally felt like I could sniff a cookie and boom I looked pregnant again. I’d lost all my baby weight but found it in a disheartening situation where I was given the least possible amount of information while putting the most amount of trust into my former OB. Lovely woman, hardly explained any part of the birth control, just that it would keep me from having babies, something that I could not and had no interest in doing again.

I took the shot and blew up to the size of a beluga whale. 6 months I went without a period and gained the most weight I had ever gained in life. There I was staring at a number far too close to 300. After a long sulk and a fairly aggressive toss in the trash and then pull back out, to the scale I had managed to find the strength to lose thirteen pounds. After that I was stuck for MONTHS. Thankfully after careful research and surprisingly Tik Tok, I was introduced to a few tools that have brought me to a 31 pound weightloss 18 of those pounds being in one month. I am in no way a dietician or nutritionist, but I would like to help in anyway I can because motherhood steals your identity and I want mine back.

Lose it App/Calorie Deficit

I was quite skeptical about both of these things because when I was younger someone told me that calorie counting doesn’t make you lose weight. Whoever that was needs slapped and so do I for believing them. Calories deficit was the driving force in my weight loss journey. The last week and some change I have been battling a cold so I’ve been maintaining but usually I would average several pounds a week through calorie deficit. The Lose It app is the best one out there as it helps track calories, water intake, sleep, etc. It has been a huge game changer for me. The Lose It app formulates a plan based off of your specific needs, weight, and body.

Water Intake

Water is such a huge part of my weight loss and honestly health in general. For a very long time I struggled to drink the amount of water that I needed in a day. After making sure to drink a gallon every single day the weight has been melting off like butter. It has literally given my body the biggest hug.

Cutting Foods Out

Now, this one is specific to me. I have other health conditions that prevent me from eating certain foods. While I can consume these foods they cause me loads of discomfort, aches and pains, and have honestly severely affect my day to day life. Cutting out bread and cheese have been two huge helps for me. While they aren’t necessarily foods that you have to avoid for a healthy happy weight loss (you can literally eat anything within your calorie deficit as long as it’s below intake) cutting these two out helped me a ton with not only pain and sluggish, but the weight seemed to come off easier.
