Traveling for work or vacation can negatively affect your waist when you're constantly eating out. In fact, a study conducted by Extended Stay America found that 86 percent of travelers reported gaining an average of 1.5 pounds for each week they were away from home. The numbers don’t look any better for vacationers, either. A survey by TripAdvisor found that 29 percent of Americans say they always or often gain weight while traveling. The makers of HowUdish hope to make eating out easier on the waistline.

In a previous volume of my weight loss journey, I spoke a little bit about the depression that can occur with losing a lot of weight quickly, especially with people who have had weight loss surgery. In that article, I said I would go into more detail, and that is because I feel depression is a much more serious thing to discuss. As someone who has dealt with severe depression for a good portion of their lives, I felt it important to go into my feelings on why depression can occur after weight loss surgery. I am not saying that this will happen to everyone. There are certainly a lot of people who get happier and happier as time goes on, but this is certainly something that can happen which is why I wanted to write about it.

At my highest weight, I was around 230 pounds. I was recovering from an illness, being bedridden, and just being treated like shit. It didn't take too long for me to realize that losing weight was something that needed to be done if I wanted to live a happy, healthy, and normal life.

Clean eating isn't something that's easy to do in this society. If you've tried it, you probably noticed that most people will give you the side-eye for eating apples and celery at your desk, rather than the typical cheesy poof or potato chip snack.

This photo is of me in July before diagnosed, September a week after being diagnosed and March before my holiday! One of my symptoms of HIT was unexplained weight issues. I would always be a stone heavier than friends who were the same dress size and height. Doctors would also predict my weight to be a stone lighter than I was. I was picked on at school for being the bigger one out of my friends. Tried diet after diet as the comments really effected me. Through every diet nothing really changed. I have always been active as I studied musical theatre and went to various dance classes growing up, so it wasn't due to lack of exercise. I ate a balanced diet. Didn't over eat. HIT can cause a lot of water retention and problems loosing weight. After a month and a half of a histamine-free diet, I had lost nearly 2 stone.

Do you have unexplained anxiety? Do you often suffer from cramps and sore muscles? Do you sometimes get red cheeks when you drink alcohol? Have you suffered from constant fatigue? If so, you may have histamine intolerance. Doctors believe 1 in 3 people may suffer from the condition, but only a few have been diagnosed.

I wish that I could say the first day of 2017 started out great. I wish I could say a lot of things. Things like "want to stay in tonight and order pizza?" and "let's go get donuts and coffee for breakfast." Sadly, 2017 did not start off great at all, and I can not bring any foods or drinks with wheat, barley, or rye into my house, and neither can the rest of my family or friends.
Mikayla RaePublished 7 years ago in LongevityWhat Is the Keto Diet Anyway?
Here's a question for you. What is the Ketogenic Diet anyway? I know that when I first heard about it, I had no clue what it was or all the benefits that it can provide to your body. It seemed too good to be true, so I wanted to go home and do my research. Once I found out more information, I wanted to share with everyone so that they can decide for themselves if this is something they would like to try.
